Don’t Forget! An Animal Kingdom Attraction Is Permanently Closing in TWO WEEKS
Okay, so 2025 has been one of the BIGGEST years for change in Disney World in recent memory. Three out of four parks are getting brand new lands, with one park getting a new land AND an expansion to an existing land. Rides have been closed for updates.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one of those parks that’s already changed a lot this year, as DinoLand U.S.A. has started a phased closure to make way for a new land, Pueblo Esperanza. As construction on Puebla Esperanza continues, another part of DinoLand U.S.A. will be closing soon: The Boneyard.
On September 2nd, The Boneyard will close forever to make way for more construction happening in Disney’s Animal Kingdom as Disney brings Pueblo Esperanza to life. The Boneyard is a playground that invites little ones to explore a prehistoric setting with rope bridges, caves, slides, and more. Kids can even excavate fossils at The Boneyard’s dig site. More importantly, though, the Boneyard offers shaded seating with big fans for parents.
With this part of Animal Kingdom closing down, this leaves one less area for parents to relax while kids burn off some energy. However, another good option for kids is Conservation Station, which can be reached by taking the Wildlife Express Train to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. Conservation Station is home to the Affection Section, a petting zoo, as well as the Animation Experience, where you can learn to draw Disney characters.
Conservation Station also has a spot where you can watch animals being cared for in the Veterinary Treatment Room, a place to watch animal caretakers prepare meals for animals, a science center, and more. It’s a great way to keep little ones engaged, learning, and entertained.
In the meantime, you’ll want to keep in mind that after September 2nd, there will be one less thing to do in Animal Kingdfdom, and prepare accordingly.
Stay tuned to DFB for more.
