REVIEW: No Offense, Disney, but I Feel Like I’m at Olive Garden When I Eat at This Magic Kingdom Restaurant
For years and years, Tony’s Town Square Restaurant has been known as one of, if not the WORST, places to eat in Magic Kingdom.

Tony’s Town Square
But is that still true? We’re committed to trying Disney World restaurants time and time again, yes, including those we both love and don’t love, because things change all the time in the parks — including the quality of meals. We headed back over to Tony’s to try one of its well-known dishes to find out if it’s really still as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
We started off our meal with the complimentary Bread Service. Woo! We love bread! It had a slight crunch to it that we adored, but the middle was soft and fluffy. Oh, and the side of olive oil and cheese was an additional perk. This certainly didn’t disappoint us — you can’t go wrong with bread, right?
For our main dish, we decided to get the Chicken Parmigiana for $32. This is a lightly breaded chicken breast baked in Tony’s Marinara sauce and mozzarella and served with spaghetti. Now, was this bad? No, not at all. In fact, it’s a good chicken parmesan…but that’s about it. We hate to say it, but there’s nothing out of this world about the dish.
The chicken was nice and tender, and we do really love the tomato sauce from this restaurant, but we wish there had been more cheese, and we felt the spaghetti it was served with was a little overcooked.
Now, the last time we had this dish, we remember being blown away. This time, it fell a little flat and was underwhelming, perhaps because our expectations were so high. It landed on the ‘alright’ scale for us, so while we weren’t unhappy, we didn’t feel the need to rave about it either. Think of Tony’s Town Square like going to your local Olive Garden. It’s fine food, but it’s not real, authentic Italian food like you might find at Via Napoli in EPCOT.
If you’re looking for decent Italian food and a nice, simple meal (or if picky eaters are just looking for a place where they’ll find something on the menu), then this restaurant could be a great choice. It’s certainly gotten much better than it used to be over the past few years, but it’s still not anywhere close to where we’d say it’s one of the best restaurants in the park. That said, we do LOVE Tony’s Garlic Bread. If you’re going to this restaurant, GET THIS! It comes with a Parmesan Fonduta that is HEAVENLY.
