A NEW Magic Kingdom Construction Project Joins the Sea of Construction Walls

There are A LOT of new things coming to Magic Kingdom soon! Disney had already announced Cars area that will replace Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America, plus a brand-new Villains land will be built behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Both of these projects are big undertakings and will result in lots of construction, but we also spotted some other random construction projects in Magic Kingdom that you need to know about if you are headed there soon!

Planning guide for the ultimate Disney vacation

Some of these projects have been ongoing for quite some time, but we also spotted a very random and very inconvenient set of walls go up in Magic Kingdom.

Cinderella Castle

Starting with some ongoing projects, the Main Street, U.S.A. station for the Walt Disney World Railroad has been undergoing refurbishment for a while. It seems to be ever-changing as walls go up and come down. The good news is that the railroad is still operating during the refurbishment. It just may not look as pretty as it does without the walls.

We have also seen refurbishments going on in The Emporium, and we recently noticed a new set of walls went up in the shop. However, a Cast Member said this phase of the refurbishment will likely only take about a week! And don’t worry, there is still plenty of merchandise to browse in the store.

Finally, we spotted construction walls up at the end of the bridge from Cinderella Castle to Fantasyland, near the Mirabel Meet and Greet.

These walls are very inconvenient, and they created a pretty bad bottleneck when we were walking by after Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire. We can imagine it will be even worse after the Festival of Fantasy Parade.

The walls create a bottleneck!

While construction walls are never ideal, we appreciate that Disney is constantly working on areas and refurbishing parts of its parks. Even though they may not look great or may make walking around less convenient, they are there for a reason.

Not the prettiest, but necessary!
