NEWS: New Rules Announced for Space Mountain in Disney World

We’ve got big news from Disney World!

We’ve already shared some exciting updates about the construction projects going on around Disney World and updated you on all the price increases that occurred last month. Now we’ve got some interesting ride news to share about Space Mountain — items have now been BANNED from the ride!

On Space Mountain, guests are now no longer allowed to have any handheld devices — cameras, phones, etc. — while riding.

Those items must be secured on your person, such as in a pocket, put in the storage pouch, or left with someone who is not riding.

It’s not clear what caused this change to occur, but this will decrease the number of items lost on the ride. Many people assume they can keep a solid hold on their items during a fast ride, but many times, that unfortunately isn’t the case. Finding those items becomes nearly impossible on a dark ride like Space Mountain.

We know this may be disappointing to some who want to document the ride, but we remind you that this change was made for a reason, so please follow the instructions and don’t make cast members’ jobs harder!
