REVIEW: Is There Such a Thing as TOO Much Chocolate in Disney World’s New Haunted Mansion Cake?
Oh, you thought Disney World was done rolling out new Halloween treats? Well, you’ll be pleasantly surprised that there’s even MORE popping up around the parks in time for fall!
And, this time, you’ll want to hurryyy baaackk to Disney Springs for an attraction-inspired dessert!
The Grim Grinning Ghost will probably be just as excited to find the NEW Haunted Mansion Petit Cake at Amorette’s Patisserie. The themed chocolate and vanilla chiffon cakes and chocolate brownie are filled with diplomat cream and sprinkled with candy coated chocolate pieces and chocolate chips.
The dark purple color represents the iconic Haunted Mansion wallpaper…
…while you can find a few of the 999 Happy Haunts around one side…
…with the Hitchhiking Ghosts in a Doom Buggy on the other.
Plus, the Haunted Mansion logo sits on top, welcoming everyone to dive into the dead center of the dessert!
It’s pretty easy to tell by looking at that cross-section that the Haunted Mansion Cake was VERY rich. The diplomat cream in between the layers of cake was a bit on the thicker side with a cream cheese consistency. However, it was made with whipped cream with a subtle vanilla flavor. While the chocolate and vanilla chiffon cakes were light, the overall petit cake was extremely rich due to the fact that chocolate brownie, candy pieces, and chocolate chips were the overwhelming flavors.
Now was it worth the $22 price tag? If you love very flavorful treats, the Haunted Mansion Petit Cake didn’t have too many standout features, other than its rich chocolate. We would have loved a bit of saltiness or a unique icing flavor other than vanilla buttercream to balance everything out! But, it was a great dessert for Haunted Mansion fans who want to celebrate Halloween! Plus, it was definitely a shareable size, so you can easily split it with a friend!
You can try the Haunted Mansion Cake for yourself through October 31st in time for Halloween! And, be sure to stay tuned with DFB for the latest Disney entertainment and news!
