Park Hopping Transportation UPDATES in Disney World!

With the New Year comes the return of park hopping at Disney World!

Cinderella Castle

And even though this is a new park hopping process than it was before, we’re taking a look at park to park transportation! Today is the first day this transportation option is available since Disney World’s closure in March of 2020, so we couldn’t wait to see what changed (or didn’t) with the new park hopping system!

Overall

In case you missed it, Disney’s park hopping system is a bit different than before. Previously, if you had a park hopper ticket, you could go to any park at any time you wanted within the operating hours. Because of the Park Pass Reservations and capacity limits, this makes park hopping a bit more complicated.

Now, park-hopping begins at 2PM every day (for the time being at least — check those park hopping hours before your trip), and you must have a reservation for the first park and you must ENTER that park. After all that, you can then hop to any of the other park as long as they are not at capacity. You can see if a park is at capacity by calling — 407 560 5000.

Hollywood Studios

To get from park to park, guests can take buses or the Skyliner. And of course, you can take your car or call a ride share service like Uber or Lyft. Monorails are usually an option, however only the Magic Kingdom Monorail Loop is available because we got confirmation the EPCOT Monorail would not be returning with park hopping.

Spaceship Earth

Technically, the boats and Skyliner have been able to connect guests to other parks with a few stops in between, but now there is park hopping purpose for this option!

Buses

While the Disney bus system has been running, the option to go from park to park is BACK today! It is not exactly the same as before, so here are a few changes to keep in mind.

Disney Bus

First of all, this transportation option is only available right before 2PM. Our bus showed up at 1:42PM today. Since park hopping doesn’t currently start until 2PM time, the buses aren’t running between parks in the morning. When guests make their way to the buses, Cast Members will scan their park tickets to make sure that they have park-hopping availability before they can board.

Disney Bus Stop

Do note that buses have capacity limits right now. Therefore, you may wait longer than usual to board a bus.

Skyliners

Guests that are looking to head to EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios (or even travel between the two parks) are able to use the Skyliners as another park-to-park transportation method.

Skyliners

If you’re looking to conquer as many parks as possible in one day, the Skyliner (or your car) might be your best bet to travel between Hollywood Studios and EPCOT quickly.

As we continue to make our way around the parks today, we’ll be sure to give you all the updates you need to know about modified park-hopping in Disney World!
