We Asked Our Readers: Do You Think EPCOT’s Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Will Open By the End of 2020? Here’s What They Said.
Currently, EPCOT is undergoing a grand and miraculous transformation.
One part of this transformation is the addition of a new section to the France pavilion that will be home to the Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure attraction, as well as a new crêperie called La Crêperie de Paris.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a trackless 4D dark ride that is based on the Disney/Pixar film, Ratatouille.
The attraction itself is a replica of Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy, which is a ride that is currently located in Disneyland Paris. If you want to take a virtual ride through the original attraction, click here! In this attraction, you’ll hop into a rat-shaped vehicle and “shrink down” to the size of Remy and his friends.
You’ll then go on an adventure through Gusteau’s Restaurant, encountering lots of characters from the movie along the way! You’ll also get to enjoy the sights, sounds, and delicious smells of Gusteau’s! The ride features fun water and heat effects as well, so you’ll really feel like you’re living in the world of that talented little chef.
We’ve been carefully watching the construction progress in this new area in the France pavilion. We saw the Gusteau’s sign being put in place…
…and have really seen the whole area be built up.
The attraction was originally slated to open in the summer of 2020. We even saw a sign in the area that signaled it would be opening Summer 2020.
But, the blue “Opening Summer 2020” sign was later removed.
Due to the global pandemic, construction was halted for a time period when the Disney World theme parks were closed. Construction has since resumed, however. We’ve seen some signs that point to a hopeful opening of this area in the near future, like all of the construction progress in the new area…
…and the addition of the sign for La Crêperie de Paris.
But, it’s still unclear exactly at what point the attraction and this new area will open. So, we asked our followers on Instagram, “Do you think Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will open by the end of 2020?” We got 24,162 (!!) responses. Of the responses we received, 58% said “No Way!” while 42% said “Yeah!”
Let’s take a look at what our readers said!
“No Way! Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Will Not Open By the End of 2020!”
Of the responses we got, 58% felt that there was no way this attraction would be opening by the end of the year. Construction on this project has definitely been delayed. Summer officially ends on September 22nd, which is not that far away so that summer 2020 opening seems a little out of reach, and it seems the majority of our readers felt an opening even by the end of 2020 would not be possible.
We’ve seen construction progress quite a bit, but much of the new area is still very much a construction zone.
There is still what appears to be a light on the floor that needs to be put into place, and lots of construction equipment lying around in the areas that are being worked on.
The “Coming Summer 2020” sign was removed, and no new sign has been put in its place announcing a new opening season. As of yet, there’s no new opening date set for the attraction or the surrounding new area.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on the construction of this new area to see how it progresses.

“Yeah! Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Will Open By the End of 2020!”
42% of our readers who responded to the poll felt this attraction could open by the end of the year. We have seen things progress in this area in terms of construction. We’ve noticed new railings put in place and walkways constructed since the last time we visited.
As we mentioned before, we also saw the sign for La Crêperie de Paris recently put in place.
So, perhaps the construction is not as delayed as some think. Maybe the attraction and surrounding area are truly only a few months away from opening. One reader told us she really hopes the new ride opens before the end of 2020: “I sure hope so. I am so looking forward to it!! It is honestly the main reason I choose to go to Epcot for this (probably once in a lifetime) family trip!! I’m sure it will not be ready by next month when we go. ”
Perhaps it won’t be ready by next month, but could it be open by December? The majority of those who responded to our poll seem to think the answer to that will be “no.” We’ll keep our eyes open for any news related to this spot and let you know what we find!
