Find Out How Shanghai Disney Resort Is Celebrating Fall This Year

We just love this time of year: from pumpkin spice everything (YES!) to all the wonderful decorations of Halloweentime, fall is pretty much one of our favorite seasons in the Disney Parks. So yes, we’re sad about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party getting canceled, but Halloween at the Disney Parks is NOT canceled completely.

We’ve already given you a rundown of what to expect at Walt Disney World this fall, but the Shanghai Disney Resort is also getting in on all the autumnal and Halloween fun. Guests at Shanghai will get to enjoy loads of extra entertainment and special events, all in honor of the spookiest time of the year.

So what all does Shanghai Disney have planned for fall? There’s a special month devoted entirely to Duffy, as well as character cavalcades, loads of Halloween fun, and more!

Celebrate Duffy Month

Shanghai Disney has dubbed the month of September as Duffy Month and will host a special event that runs throughout the whole 30 days of September as part of its “A Month with Duffy and Friends.”

First up is some brand new entertainment: The Duffy and Friends Celebrate Together show, which will be all about fun and friendship and life on Mickey Avenue. This sounds amazingly cute! A new backdrop (“social wall”) of Duffy and his friends enjoying a fall picnic will provide the perfect background for a lot of great photos.

But check this out, y’all: kids (or adults — we don’t judge here) can bring their favorite Duffy plush to the park and take photos of them in a variety of miniature settings around Mickey Avenue designed just for that.

What’s a celebration, though, without food? You knew we were getting to that, right? There will be loads of Duffy and Friends-themed treats, including a Duffy-themed set menu at The Royal Banquet Hall in the Enchanted Storybrook Castle. This is a multi-course meal that also includes a visit by Duffy and Friends in person.

There’s also a special Duffy afternoon tea party at Mickey & Pals Market Cafe. Throughout the rest of the resort, guests can also expect to see a ton of Duffy-themed sweets, including coffee-flavored Duffy the Disney Bear ice cream, fudge cakes (Nom!) as well as ice cream waffle cones. Our mouths are watering, y’all!

Once guests have filled themselves up with all those treats and snacks, it’s time to go shopping! Shanghai Disney is bringing out all kinds of new Duffy and Friends merchandise, including the Duffy in the Garden collection. And how adorable are these characters in their little gardening clothes? There is also a new Duffy and Friends plush, along with keychains, plate sets, mugs, and home decorations.

But yes, there is more: Disney is going all out for Duffy Month. The Shanghai Disneyland Hotel will offer a special staycation package, which is available through September 24.

Not only will guests get a memorable stay at the hotel, but that stay will include Duffy-themed room amenities and overlays, breakfast, and two tickets for admission to Shanghai Disneyland! We’re just going to go on record to say that this will be an absolutely incredible experience for Duffy fans!

Halloween Fun

If that wasn’t enough autumnal excitement for you, there are plenty more things awaiting guests at Shanghai Disney Resort. Much like Walt Disney World’s spooky 2020 plans for HalloweentimeShanghai Disney has a lot of really fun things on tap for celebrating one of our favorite times of the year.

From October 5 through November 1, Halloween will be in full effect at Shanghai Disney. First, guests can wear Halloween costumes in the park (just like Disney World)! And while in costume, guests can enjoy Donald’s Halloween Treat Cavalcade, where they will be joined by Mickey Mouse and friends, along with Disney Villains and spooky dancers.

Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas will throw a creepily spectacular “This is Halloween” dance party. And Miguel from Coco will host a singalong at a Coco-themed area from October 12 through November 8.

Fall Fun

Although we love our pumpkin spice, fall is also about cooler weather, pretty colors, and harvest. Shanghai Disney will honor all things fall with the Disneytown Festival Market, which runs from September 12 through October 8.

The market will feature a Foodie Feast (we hear Shanghai Disney calling our name!), Farmers Market, and Folk Art Fairy. And in the spirit of the season, Shanghai Disney will also offer a Mid-Autumn Festival, along with Thanksgiving family feasts. Let’s face it: we’re all about the food, so this sounds pretty incredible.

For those who love the great outdoors, especially in fall when the leaves begin to change color, Wishing Star Park will return to let younger fall lovers explore the natural world through a series of three exploration trips. Kids who go through all three trips will even get a chance to see Mickey Mouse!

From September 1 through September 24, guests can buy a package called the Happy Gathering – Bundle of Three Weekday Package. This special package includes three standard one-day park tickets on a pre-selected date from September 2 through September 25. There’s also the Enjoy Flavors – Bundle of Three Weekend Package (we’re in!) that offers a snack combo voucher, along with a specialty beverage voucher.

With many Disney Halloween special events canceled this year, Disney will still be offering different ways to help guests celebrate.
