Photos: See What the Crowds Are Like at Disney World the Day Before the Coronavirus Closure
Walt Disney World is currently preparing for a temporary park closure beginning Monday, March 16th as a precaution due to the coronavirus outbreak.

At press time, Disney Resort hotels and Disney Springs are set to remain open during the park closure, but some services will still be affected. So far, a few stores at Disney Springs have announced that they will be closed and House of Blues has cancelled several scheduled events. But we are getting a final dose of magic and checking out the crowds on the last day before the closure!
Crowds were pretty light as we headed to the Magic Kingdom across the Seven Seas Lagoon!

Even getting into the parks seemed much easier than a typical day! There were definitely still plenty of people making their way in, but the lines moved quickly.

Ahh there she is. The beautiful Cinderella Castle in the midst of her makeover. As you can tell, there were much less people than would typically be expected for a weekend — especially during some Spring Breaks!

The switchbacks were full as per usual to get a Starbucks cup-0-joe!

After a quick caffeine boost, we headed over to see how the attraction wait times would be affected by the impending closure. Space Mountain had 40 minute wait time, which is impressively low compared to most weekends!

On to the most popular ride in the park… Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train had an 85 minute wait (which jumped down to 45 minutes later on).

The Fantasyland crowds weren’t packed quite as tight as usual, but there were plenty of people getting in a final ride on Mine Train!

Liberty Square also had lighter crowds than we’ve seen in the past several weeks.

As we were passing by, Haunted Mansion had a 15 minute wait — so just a short line to visit the grim grinning ghosts!

Over in Frontierland, Big Thunder Mountain remained popular…

…with a 55 minute wait and plenty of folks lookin’ to ride the wildest ride in the wilderness!

The newly-renovated Splash Mountain was also accepting visitors with a 45 minute wait. Sounds like a great place to catch a glimpse of the Cinderella Castle makeover from afar!

We made a quick stop over at Casey’s Corner before the fireworks and we weren’t the only ones with a hankering for a hot dog!

Night fell quickly and we were already starting to get emotional before Happily Ever After even started.

It has been a very emotional day and week for guests and Cast Members at Walt Disney World Resort. We are doing our best to keep you updates with all the latest Disney happenings, but we sure will miss getting to see this view for the next couple weeks.
