Goodbye “Year of the Pig” and hello 2020, the “Year of the Mouse”! (Alright, so maybe it’s actually the “Year of the Rat”, but close enough, right?)

We’re super-stoked about the return of the limited-time Lunar New Year event, which is a multicultural celebration at Disney California Adventure that starts January 17th and runs through February 9th, 2020. And we’re even MORE excited to attend this year’s fest now that Disney’s just shared a sneak-peek with us!

The Lunar New Year event is included in the price of your regular park admission — no special ticket required! Folks who attended last year’s celebration may be happy to hear Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession and Hurry Home – Lunar New Year Celebration will be returning!

And according to Disney, “beloved characters Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will don new festive Lunar New Year attire this year as they greet guests at Paradise Gardens. Other characters guests may find in this area include Mulan, Pluto, and the Three Little Pigs who also join in the Lunar New Year celebration.” Oh boy! We were hoping the Three Little Pigs would find a way to hang around! They were so cute last year!

  • Longevity Noodle Co.
  • Lucky 8 Lantern
  • Prosperity Bao & Buns
  • Red Dragon Spice Traders

You’ll also be able to find Asian-inspired Lunar New Year menu items at Paradise Garden Grill as well as Lucky Fortune Cookery in Pacific Wharf. Disney’s shared with us a selection of some of this year’s offerings! Check out the Smoked Beef Bulgogi Short Rib you can try at this year’s fest!
