DFB Review: We Slowed Down for Lunch at Disney World’s Oasis Bar and Grill

ALOHA from the Polynesian Village Resort!

This Lobby is Always So Welcoming

You may know the Polynesian is a paradise when it comes to delectable tropical treats. From the newest Dole Whip Floats to ‘Ohana Noodles without a reservation, there is no shortage of deliciousness at this iconic resort.

Blue Hawaiian Float

But today, we’re slowing things down and getting a bite pool-side — hāele pū (let’s go in Hawaiian!) to the Oasis Bar and Grill!

Atmosphere:

Oasis Bar and Grill is located within the gate of the Polynesian’s smaller pool, aptly named the Oasis Pool.

Oasis Pool

Keep in mind, the pool is gated and the restaurant is entirely inside the fence. So you should technically be staying at the resort, or a guest of someone staying there, to access the Oasis Bar and Grill.

We immediately noticed this helpful sign letting us know to seat ourselves. Considering it’s a pool bar, everything is outside but there is a big roof for shade.

Oasis Bar and Grill Tables and Chairs

The tables are set up with bright blue and coral chairs, and you’re welcome to enjoy lunch in your swimsuit!

There are several high top chairs at the bar as well, if you want to enjoy the game with your meal or cocktail.

It may not be the biggest or flashiest poolside bar, we love the retro vibe!

Eats:

The Oasis Bar and Grill menu has a great selection of poolside cocktails as well as some unique bar eats.

First up, the specialty cocktails!

Being at the Polynesian, you’re going to find a lot of tropical delights on the specialty drink list. We’ve loved the Frozen Margarita with Dole Whip Lime in the past.

There is also a nice selection of wine and beer, as well as a few specialty coffees.

We decided to give the Cucumber and Mint Vojito for $14 a whirl!

Cucumber and Mint Vojito

The Cucumber and Mint Vojito is made with Ketel One Botanical Cucumber and Mint Vodka, Lime Juice, and Pure Cane Sugar topped with Soda Water.

Cucumber and Mint Vojito

Ooooooh wow, is this drink refreshing! We loved the fresh cucumber, lime, and mint in the cocktail. The strongest flavors were the lime and mint, with the cucumber adding a crisp coolness. This is totally our new top cocktail pick for when we want to cool off, but don’t want brain freeze from a frozen bev.

Next up, something to eat! The Oasis Bar and Grill has a nice selection of unique poolside eats.

And as an FYI, this is considered a Quick Service Meal on the Disney Dining Plan. Our server explained you can get any entree or starter as your meal, plus a cocktail (for those 21+ who wish to enjoy of course!).

We opted to try out the Black Pepper Parmesan Chicken Wings for $10.99!

Black Pepper Parmesan Chicken Wings

The order came with 6 wings, a mix of flats and drummies.

Black Pepper Parmesan Chicken Wings

These were so tasty! Nice and tender, they were a perfect savory bite. The pepper provided a nice burst of spice and flavor — but they weren’t overwhelmingly hot.

And we truly loved the Fresh Garden Herb Dressing that was poured over the wings. It pooled at the bottom of the plate like an olive-oily pepper Parmesan lake of happiness. (Pro-tip, roll your wings around in it. Also, save some in case someone at the table gets fries.)

Overall, these were very tasty wings that we’d order again! What can we say, the Poly knows how to cook up a good chicken wing! (Looking at you, ‘Ohana Sticky Wings.)

We also grabbed the Teriyaki-Glazed Angus Chuck Burger for $13.99.

Teriyaki-Glazed Angus Chuck Burger

This is an Angus Chuck Burger, topped with Pork Belly, Grilled Pineapple, and teriyaki sauce. As a side, you can choose fries or a green cabbage slaw. (We got fries and thank goodness — that herb dressing from the wings was calling!)

Teriyaki-Glazed Angus Chuck Burger Cross Section

This was a hearty (and messy!) burger, with a generous amount of pork belly atop the juicy beef patty.

Pork Belly

The pork belly was an awesome and unique topping — it was cooked really well so it was tender and fatty (in the good pork belly way!).

We also LOVED the big chunk of grilled pineapple. It brought a fresh sweetness that perfectly balanced out the double meat. We also enjoyed the teriyaki sauce so much we didn’t feel the need to add any other condiments — though they brought ketchup and mayo if you want them!

If you’re a pork belly (or pineapple!) fan, we definitely recommend checking out this tropical twist on a classic burger!

Overall:

We were delightfully happy and impressed after our lunch at the Oasis Bar and Grill. Both items we tried were cooked well, flavorful, and unique for a pool bar menu. We also really enjoyed the Cucumber and Mint Vojito. Plus, it’s a pretty great use of a quick-service dining credit to get a signature cocktail AND sit down with a plated and served meal. We should also note that the Barefoot Bar and Grill near the Polynesian’s bigger pool, currently has the exact same menu and dining plan value, and it doesn’t require pool access.

While the Oasis Bar and Grill isn’t necessarily a destination restaurant, it’s an awesome choice for a casual lunch or dinner during a resort day at the Polynesian!
