NEWS!! Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Officially Named — PLUS Ride Details!
Thanks to a slew of exciting announcements at Disney’s D23 Expo, we now know the name of the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster coming to Epcot’s Future World (or should we say the future Epcot neighborhood World Discovery)!

In between ALL of the incredible news and updates on all things Marvel coming to Disney California Adventure and the BRAND NEW Mary Poppins attraction coming to Epcot, we learned that the Guardians coaster we’ve watched take over the old Universe of Energy will be called Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind! And we are HERE for this brand new concept art!

In addition to the conceptual ride vehicles we peeped above, we also learned that Cosmic Rewind will begin with guests entering the “galaxarium” where they will then board a Nova ship to see earth from space.

But when the Guardians of the Galaxy show up, things take a slightly different turn — presumably several fast, energetic turns!

We had previously seen footage of the ride vehicle in action (click here for more on that!!), so we already knew about the pivoting movements of this ride intended to direct riders to the story unfolding around them. But today we learned that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will feature the first ever “reverse launch into space”! Hold onto your hats and your cassette tapes! 
Stay tuned while we track the progress of this of this ride — we’ve still yet to hear an opening date, though it’s expected to be open in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary in 2021!
