What’s New at Disneyland Resort: Parking Updates, Secret Menu Item UPDATES, and Simba Comes to Life!
We’re walking in Walt’s footsteps (and then some!) with our What’s New from Disneyland Resort! We spotted fun new merchandise, tasty menu updates, and some parking progress. Plus: Simba’s come to life… sort of. We’re roarin’ to go!
What’s New in Disneyland Resort Dining
We’re checking out what’s new in dining at Disneyland Resort, and our first stop is at Uva Bar in Downtown Disney. The walk-up window has a fresh new secret menu item that’s so pretty, you’ve got to try it!
It’s called the Purple Galaxy, and it’s comprised of vodka, housemade limeade, and butterfly pea flower tea (hence the purple color!). Click here to see if it’s out of this world (and learn why it’s smoking)!
Craftsman Bar opened at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, and we enjoyed the soft opening and a slew of pool bar eats.
Read our review of artisanal pizzas, loaded nachos, sliders, and lobster quesadillas here!
We also spotted the Disneyland incarnation of the Disney Snacks Popcorn Bucket! It’s available in Disneyland Park at various popcorn buckets. We just love this design! There’s a popcorn bucket ON the popcorn bucket! This is a universe we want to live in. See more of the design here!
We stopped into Galaxy’s Edge again, and we re-tried the kid’s menu A Taste of Takodana, the Roasted Endorian Tip Yip Salad, and the Ithorian Garden Loaf. While we’d tried these items at a preview, we weren’t allowed to take photos. Now we’ve got ’em and we added pics to our full review of Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo here!
Bengal Barbecue introduced a new Poke Bowl. We gave this a try and reviewed it here!
We also shared a cool update about the SECRET MENU Loaded Fries at Hungry Bear Restaurant. Click here to read about it!
Disneyland Park is at it again with a twist on Dole Whip at The Tropical Hideaway!! Chili-Mango Dole Whip brings a little spice to the sweet treat — finally combining the beloved Tajin spice and chamoy with Dole Whip! Click here to see what else is involved in this fun offering!
And Flo’s V-8 in Cars Land in Disney California Adventure Park now has a Root Beer Float Shake! See if it’s revving our engines here!
What’s New in Disneyland Resort Construction & Attractions
Work continues on the areas around the Pixar Pals Parking Structure. Surface work between the parking structures is in progress.
Inside the Parking Structure: Pixar-themed trash cans! We know we’re not the only ones who love Disney’s themed trash cans!
Level 2 (Coco!) of the Parking Structure will soon have access to “a walkway to Disney Parks & Downtown Disney,” but the walkway is still under construction. Signs are up, though!
The walkway has come a long way, but scaffolding and equipment are still visible. We’ll let you know when it’s open!
We visited Joy and Sadness at the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind again. We couldn’t help it; our internal consoles made us do it.
But just look at how pretty it is at night! So colorful and lively — just like those Inside Out characters!
Based on the reactions of riders, we’re saying Joy is much more prevalent here than Sadness, although there may be a little Fear mixed in, too, for the little little ones.
Disneyland Park has a sign with Galaxy’s Edge status. During our visit, it was open!
Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln is still an ode to the creation of Haunted Mansion with this display called Happy Haunts Materialize. Click here to learn more about it and see some of the displays!
What’s New in Disneyland Resort Merchandise
In shopping news, World of Disney now has the Loungefly Parks wallets and backpacks.
We love this colorful design! So many neat Parks icons mixed in there!
We also spotted the Rainbow Pride Loungefly backpack at World of Disney, too. (There’s a display of Pride merch here still!)
The Lion King‘s live-action update opens in a matter of days, and the merch push is still fully on!
We spied some new-to-us tee shirts, but if you’ve ever walked down the toy aisle at Target and had a FurReal pet yell at you, brace yourself.
The king has returned, and he’s seriously FurReal. This $99.99 animated toy responds with over 100 sound and motion combinations. The king lives, y’all!
If you prefer your lions quiet and still, there’s a plush purse for that.
The Minnie Icon Collection is fierce at World of Disney, too! This collection has appeared on both coasts and includes tons of Minnie-rrific merch, like this sweatshirt with built-in ears!
Dresses, tees, backpacks, and more help you be Park-ready!
This cute card holder captured our attention with its various patterns and big bow.
And we love this Minnie Tote that’s unabashedly red! (Did we mention that we love being labeled an “icon”. So appropriate…)
We found a new pink-and-white tie-dye Briar Rose Spirit Jersey. It’s got pretty gold writing on the back and the Disneyland D on the front.
We also LOVE this Mickey Flag tee shirt!
Imagination Pink is still fired up, and we thought this Card Holder was useful and pretty! Click here to see how you can shop the Imagination Pink collection for yourself!
For Rebels, this long-sleeve tee with a starfighter on the sleeve is a sure hit. Just be careful if you wear it in the First Order area of Galaxy’s Edge!
Ariel Ears are available in World of Disney. These have been popular with guests, but we’re still able to find them in various locations.
At Five and Dime in ToonTown we found the Disney Snacks Phone Case with pizza Popsocket! This one is also available in Disney World!
And in Disney Parks Snacks headband news, you can get this cloth headband at Le Bat en Rouge in New Orleans Square.
But if you’re looking to drop almost two hundo on some headgear, Elias & Co. has the Alex & Ani Gold Ears on display and for sale. These designer Minnie ears made their debut a few days ago in Walt Disney World, too. Check them out here!
And with our wallet empty, we complete our tour of Disneyland Resort! Thanks for coming along, and be sure to stay tuned for more What’s New from the Disney Parks this week!
