Animal Kingdom Food Update
Not too much to note here! But, we did spot allergy menus available for guests to peruse for Restaurantosaurus and Satu’li Canteen.
And one of our old favorite cupcakes is BACK with an all-new twist! The Elephant Cupcake is $5.99 and can be found at Restrauntosaurus or Creature Comforts. The best part?? There’s COOKIE DOUGH INSIDE!
See our full review (including that Cookie Dough!) for the Elephant Cupcake here!
What’s New in Animal Kingdom Merchandise
Let’s kick things off by throwing it back. The Lion King VHS phone case took us back to the ’90s in the best way possible.
We found it at multiple locations throughout the park, including Island Mercantile and Discovery Trading Company.
The case comes with a kickstand and card slots and it comes in two different sizes. You can find the case for an iPhone 6,7,8 or for larger iPhones like the X. No matter the size, the prices will be $29.99.
Now, let’s journey into Discovery Trading Company. Here we found the limited edition trading pins for July.
With options like Hercules, Magic of Honor, Spaceship Earth, Vintage Vinyl Oliver and Company, and Kingdom Consoles.
These are all $17.99 each.
And remember those fun Wishables that have been coming out with new collections nearly every week? Well, the newest collection is making a SPLASH as it features some of our favorite Splash Mountian pals. These Splash Mountian Wishables can also be found in Magic Kingdom.
And you can’t forget the super cute Nana Cozy Knit we spotted at World of Disney! Because she too has made her way into Animal Kingdom.
Looking to add a little Disney spirit to your kiddos’ wardrobe? Well, then you have to take a look at the new youth yarn spirit jersey that can also be found at Mickey’s Star Traders in Magic Kingdom.
Need something a bit more sparkly to add to your wardrobe? Well, then you’ll be happy to know that The Little Mermaid ears have swum into Animal Kingdom as well!
Hop back on board the safari bus as we journey deeper into new Aminal Kingdom merchandise by exploring Island Mercantile.
The new Icon Minnie Collection has us wishing we could wear polka dots and glitter every day. Come to think of it — we can (one of the perks of the job)! This can be found at other locations throughout the parks too.
Choose your king or queen of the jungle by taking your pick of a plush from the Lion King wall. A few of our favorite new options are the Sitting Simba and Nala that we also spotted at World of Disney in Disney Springs. The sitting plush can be purchased for $26.99 individually. Or you can take both Nala and Simba home for $22 each.
Over at Ziwani Traders, we noticed the perfect place to snap Lion King photos. AND, this photo opp is in the AC! Is there anything better? I think not!
Other Animal Kingdom Updates
The Gibbons are BACK home.
It seemed like they were having a swingin’ good time. (:
The construction on the walkway between Africa and Pandora continues.
AND we had the opportunity to see Kevin pretend to be a flamingo as she was walking around Asia.
Speaking of Kevin, according to the Disney World website calendar it looks like UP! A Great Bird Adventure will be closed this fall from September 8 – 21, 2019.
Showtimes are available again beginning September 22nd.
