What’s New at Epcot: Frozen Cocktails, Lion King Snacks, Construction Updates, and MORE!
Helloooooo from Epcot! Even though it’s just been a few days since our previous visit (we are EVERYWHERE), we still found new treats, new construction, and new merchandise on our most recent stop! If you can say one thing about Disney, it’s that they always keep things fun and interesting — never a dull moment!
Let’s get started with our trip around the park!
What’s New in Epcot’s Future World
Right off the bat, we noticed something before we even entered the park!
As we’ve previously reported, the Main Entrance of Epcot is undergoing a huge transformation — including the tram lane! We snapped these photos from the SKY (aka the Monorail), and were able to get a good look at what’s going on!
As we headed into the park, we noted while the right side Leave a Legacy Monoliths are gone…
…nothing has changed about the Left Side just yet. We predict we will see construction walls again soon as all of the monoliths are being moved to a location just outside of the park’s gateway!
You can check out more photos of the Main Entrance Transformation here!
Per usual, we had to check out the Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster construction, and snap some updated photos.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster is slated to open in 2021, in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration and WE. CAN. NOT. WAIT.
We also scoped out the unnamed (for now) Space Restaurant near Mission: SPACE.
The restaurant is slated to open later this year, so they’ve still got a long way to go!
Speaking of restaurant work, remember how Garden Grill looked like this?
Well, now it looks like THIS!
We assume the trees were blocking some light maintenance work, and does’t she look purty all spruced up!?
Rounding out the Future World construction, we noticed walls have gone up at the Splash Zone near Mission: SPACE.
Sorry kids, no water play time for now! We aren’t sure how long the Splash Zone will be closed (hopefully not too long in these summer temps), but we will keep you posted as always!
What’s New in Epcot’s World Showcase
The first thing we noticed on our lap around the World is that part of the scaffolding in Mexico is gone at last!
Previously at La Cantina de San Angel, the scaffolding continued along these waterfront columns.
From what we can tell, it looks like it was a paint job to spruce up our favorite waterside spot to grab some nachos in World Showcase, and we look forward to getting the full waterside views back once the rest of the scaffolding is taken down.
Inside the pyramid, we spotted these super cute Sugar Skull Candy tins!
We also spotted Super Rebanaditas Lollipops, which are an authentic Mexican treat!
They are watermelon flavored — WITH CHILI! Ay caramba!
Nearby in La Cava del Tequila we spotted a new drink called the Apple Tentation, which is made with Mezcal and Green apple juice.
Continuing our stroll, we saw some exciting new items at the Refreshment Outpost!
The Nigerian Meat Pie, No Worries Panna Cotta, and Savannah Smoothie are new additions, inspired by The Lion King!
We took a lot of photos, and did a full review of the new items which you can read right here!!
Meanwhile in Italy, we noticed the cutest Ciao Bella and Molto Bene collection!
We’ve seen the shirts before, but we haven’t spotted the adorable plates and drinkware until now!
In Japan, we noticed some updates in the construction of the upcoming signature restaurant Takumi-Tei!
Most notably, a menu board has been installed… but it’s still blank, so stay tuned to DFB for when the full menu is revealed!
In France, we noticed walls and scaffolding have gone up around the center of the pavilion.
Of course, we also had to check out the rest of the French Pavilion construction.
I for one, cannot WAIT for the new Crêperie!
Next door in the United Kingdom, we found a fun new way to cool off in the Florida heat.
The new Pimm’s Frozen Lemonade is made with gin, so this one is for the big kids. You can read our full review here!
And lastly on our stroll, we saw a little bit of scaffolding up in the Canada pavilion on the rock wall near Le Cellier.
We assume it’s just a touch up, but we will keep you posted if it gets more exciting.
What’s New in Epcot’s Shops and Stores – New Merch!
Not shocking to anyone, France had some great shopping in our last visit!!
For instance, take this too-cute Ratatouille Chef jacket we found in the wine shop! You can see more items from this collection in this post.
Remy also popped up on a few t-shirts in the shop near Les Halles.
Isn’t he just the cutest rat you’ve ever seen!?
In the same shop, we also found this precious Eiffel Tower purse featuring our favorite mice. ($44.99)
Très chic!
France wasn’t done with the winners yet — we LOVE these striped tops that just exude French style.
Both colors boast the Eiffel Tower in red and are $34.99. Lastly, we noticed some items themed after the new Riviera Resort, which is opening later this year!
Both designs are $79.99 and so fun!
Next door in the U.K., we noticed a fun Tea Towel celebrating the Royal Baby Archie, with a “Congratulations, Harry and Meghan” sentiment.
We also spotted some Rocket Man T-shirts in celebration of the new Elton John movie. ($29.99)
Over in Future World, we found this updated version of the Ariel Bubble Wand. And IT. SINGS.
We found it at a cart, and predict we will see it globally soon!
Also at an outdoor cart, we found these fun Star Wars pin sets.
Each comes with different designs, and are $24.99 for the pack of four. Speaking of Star Wars (which we’ve been doing quite a bit!), we found these new-to-us shirts in MouseGear.
Also in MouseGear, were these fun kids’ t-shirts!
The new Beast and Pascal designs are $19.99 each.
We noticed this cute Mickey and Minnie phone case as well.
There’s also a cute little sign letting you know where you can find the D-tech phone cases in Disney Springs, as well as what phones they have designs for.
Did you think Rose Gold was over? No way! We found a precious Rose Gold Ears necklace.
And last but CERTAINLY not least : the FORKY MAGIC BAND!!
This limited edition band is $34.99, and is also available online at ShopDisney.
So there you have it! A whole bunch of fun from our most recent trip to Epcot!
