Photos and Review! Rainbow Cupcake at Disney World’s BoardWalk Bakery
The BoardWalk Bakery on Disney World’s BoardWalk has debuted a new cupcake in honor of Pride month!
The Rainbow Cupcake positively pops with color from the pretty chocolate hearts accented with glitter to the sprinkles surrounding the base of the buttercream frosting to the chocolate discs forming Mickey ears on the top.
The sweet vanilla buttercream and accent pieces top a vanilla cake base.
But the base is unique in that it features a “strawberry soak” with a tropical fruit curd and chocolate pearl center inside.
And that all equals up to a lot going on! The tropical curd filling is uniquely refreshing — so much so that we don’t think the filling particularly needs that extra touch of chocolate candy pearls.
That strawberry soak really does lend a very pure strawberry taste and tang to the otherwise plain vanilla cake. Now, here’s the thing: the flavor was great, and we didn’t mind the “soak,” even though it caused our cake to topple due to some heft from the liquid.
That said, we know that some might find the “wet cake” texture (or even the idea) off-putting, so if that includes you, we wanted you to know!
The Rainbow Cupcake at BoardWalk Bakery is $5.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit.
