Review and Food Photos: Room Service Dining at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort

In-Room Dining at Walt Disney World is a bit of a gamble. In the past when I’ve tried it, the food has been lukewarm at best, cold/old at worst, and not prepared very well. (Or rather, it may have been prepared well but didn’t survive its journey to my room!) So when I ordered In-Room Dining for breakfast at Walt Disney World’s Wilderness Lodge, I managed my expectations.

But I’m happy (and frankly surprised) to say that it was actually pretty good!

I was traveling with my son, so the Kids’ Menu Mickey Waffles were a must. Of course, with this view, it’s possible that anything would taste better! Those are the Copper Creek Cabins below and the Contemporary and Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle in the distance. We had some great fireworks views from this room!

The Mickey Waffles were crisp and well-cooked (very glad they weren’t soggy!), and the bacon was standard Disney bacon — not super crispy, but flavorful.

The Ham and Cheddar Omelet was another decent item. It was warm, and the flavors were great. The breakfast potatoes (roasted with red pepper) had good flavor, too, though weren’t as salty as I would have liked.

We ordered a bowl of Fresh Mixed Berries, and these were exactly as advertised: fresh! The cereal-sized bowl was filled with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries.

Mickey Butter came on the side, and that’s always a fun addition. (Don’t mind that poor, mushed Mickey on the top; he doesn’t do mornings.)

Overall, I have to say this was probably the best In-Room Dining I’ve had at Walt Disney World. The food was tasty and still appropriately warm. And the delivery of the food was fairly speedy — especially when I compare it to room service I’ve ordered in the past. Of course, mileage will vary on In-Room Dining since lots of factors can affect the quality of the food you receive, but this time it was a win!
