10 Restaurants Now Break Walt Disney’s Number One Rule for Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney wasn’t opposed to many things when it came to creating his theme park, but the one thing he was against was alcohol. Although he passed before the Magic Kingdom opened in 1971, the rule of no alcohol was honored… until 2012.

Yes, alcohol was served before 2012 in the other theme parks, but we’re strictly talking about the Magic Kingdom. This is the park that’s seen as the epitome of Disney World — the one people think of when it comes to planning a vacation to the “Most Magical Place on Earth…” The one that makes you feel like a kid again. And now 10 restaurants break Walt’s number one rule.

When Be Our Guest Restaurant opened in 2012, they were the first to serve alcohol. Before then, Magic Kingdom was a fully dry park. Guests over the age of 21 can purchase specialty beverages, champagne, wines, beers, and ciders during lunch and dinner.

Cinderella’s Royal Table
Located in Cinderella Castle, Cinderella’s Royal Table is a character dining experience open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Though this is a prix-fixe menu, guests have the option of purchasing alcoholic beverages at an additional cost.

The Crystal Palace
Another character dining location in the Magic Kingdom offers the purchase of alcoholic beverages on top of their meal. The Crystal Palace serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a buffet-style setting where friends from the Hundred Acre Wood will come around to each table and greet their guests! Here, you can find mimosas, margaritas, and other specialty cocktails, along with beer, hard cider, and wine.

Themed to the iconic ride across the way, Jungle Navigation Co. You can find specialty cocktails, beer, wine, and hard ciders available for purchase.

The Plaza Restaurant
At the end of Main Street, U.S.A., before you enter the Hub, you can find The Plaza Restaurant on your right. This location serves up familiar dishes, like cheeseburgers, salads, and club sandwiches, as well as milkshakes! Guests can purchase beer, wine, and specialty cocktails if they choose.

The final table-service restaurant where you can find alcohol is at the start of Main Street — Tony’s Town Square Restaurant. Beer, wine, and cocktails are available for purchase with your meal.

The Beak and Barrel
Now, this is where we REALLY see the rules bend. Before The Beak and Barrel, guests could only get alcohol at a table-service restaurant. But in 2025, Disney opened a bar-lounge inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean. This 45-minute experience is similar to Oga’s Cantina in Hollywood Studios — guests are limited to two alcoholic beverages. You can also find light bites and immersive theming here.

The Diamond Horseshoe Pop-Up Restaurant
The Diamond Horseshoe, a restaurant that used to serve the same menu as Liberty Tree Tavern, will open as a pop-up restaurant in October, following Jessie’s Roundup for Cool KIDS Summer.
