This Popular Magic Kingdom Store Just Got a HUGE Upgrade

With all the construction going on at Disney World, we bet you forgot about this smaller refurbishment at Magic Kingdom!

Storybook Circus

Since February of this year, Big Top Souvenirs in Magic Kingdom’s Storybook Circus has been closed for refurbishment. Disney has yet to announce an opening date, so we’ve been popping by from time to time to check on the progress. This most recent update is HUGE!

The Big Top Souvenirs tent has officially been replaced! The tent had been completely removed a few months ago, with just the steel frame where the tent had been remaining. However, it’s finally been replaced, and it’s looking fresh and new.

The tent is back!

This just means we’re one step closer to the reopening of the popular souvenir shop! It’s been a process since its closure on February 20th, but we knew it was going to be a lengthy refurbishment. It’s supposed to open later this year, but there hasn’t been any word on a specific date.

Big Top Souvenirs is one of the more underrated stores in Magic Kingdom. It’s a great place to grab Disney souvenirs, treats, slushies, and more. It’s also a great spot to just step inside and cool down. There are tables for families to sit at and kids to color at.

We hope it opens soon!

For now, we’ll have to enjoy the other things that Storybook Circus has to offer. There are plenty of meet-and-greet opportunities, some great rides for kiddos (including the iconic Dumbo ride), and even a circus splash pad. Your little ones will get soaked at it, but it’s perfect for the hot summer Florida days that are here.
