I Toured 7 Disney World Hotels in 4 Days and This Perk Surprised Me the Most

When many guests think of Walt Disney World hotels and their perks, they conjure images of Disney’s on-property resorts like the Contemporary and the Polynesian. However, there’s more to Disney World’s hotels than the ones that Disney owns, including the 7 hotels we recently had the opportunity to tour!

Our Mickey Waffle!

Located in the Disney Springs Resort Area – – literally on Disney property – – each of these 7 hotels provides accommodations and its fair share of perks to Disney World guests.

Disney Vacation Planner

The hotels in the Disney Springs Resort Area include:

  • DoubleTree Suites offers 236 suites, each with a private bedroom, a separate living room with a queen sleeper sofa, a dining area, and a wet bar with a mini-fridge, microwave & coffee maker. Further amenities include a pool, whirlpool, splash pad, tennis court, and fitness center.
  • The Drury Plaza Hotel is home to 602 guest rooms and offers its own litany of perks, including a daily free hot breakfast buffet from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM, the free 530 Kickback (a nightly reception served from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM featuring a rotating menu of hot food and cold drinks. Guests 21+ are entitled to 3 free alcoholic beverages as well), free popcorn and soft drinks from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In addition, guests also have access to included Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, a 24-Hour Fitness Center, a 24-Hour Business Center, further dining options, including the Kitchen + Bar, Lakeside Bar & Grill, and Pizza Hut Express, and a recreation complex including a pool, splash pad, and outdoor whirlpool.
  • Coming in at 1,011 rooms, the Hilton Buena Vista Palace is a massive hotel, but it includes an equally impressive list of perks for guests, including 6 different on-property dining options, a pool complex featuring a pair of heated pools, a whirlpool, and cabana rentals, a 24-Hour Fitness Center, and an arcade.
  • In addition to a similar list of amenities to the Hilton Buena Vista Palace, the Hilton Lake Buena Vista offers several restaurants of its own, including a Benihana Steakhouse and Sushi outpost, the Rum Largo Poolside Bar and Café, and the sports haven that is John T’s.
  • The Disney Springs Holiday Inn offers 323 guest rooms, each featuring free WiFi and a Keurig Coffee Machine. Further hotel-wide amenities include the Palm Breezes restaurant and lounge, a recreation area including a heated beach entry swimming pool, a tropical outdoor Whirlpool, a poolside sundeck, a 24-hour fitness center, and a 24-hour game room. On top of all that, kids age 11 and under eat free with a paying adult.
  • Guests staying in one of the Renaissance Orlando Resort & Spa’s 394 rooms include access to a zero-entry pool and pool bar, morning wellness classes, on-site dining and bars, the Kid Zone Game Room, and 24-hour Fitness Center. Then there’s the matter of the titular Indulged Spa + Wellness Retreat, a full-service spa offering massages, facials, and restorative treatments.
  • Made up of two five-story buildings that house a combined 394 guest rooms, the Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista offers guests something that can only be found at only one other place on Disney property: A lobby cafe offering Disney World’s signature Joffrey’s beverages. That’s in addition to other dining offerings, including the LakeView Restaurant, the poolside Oasis Restaurant, and the 24-hour Sundial Café. Further amenities available at the hotel include the Oasis Aquatic Pool Playground (home to two pools, interactive water features, a large hot tub, and a pool deck), a business center, a fitness center, a sand volleyball court, a basketball court, and a game room.

Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista

In addition to their individual benefits, several of the hotels – – the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista, the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace, the Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista, and the Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando – – offer pedestrian bridges that allow guests to walk directly to Disney Springs, bringing them to the shopping area in mere minutes. In addition, guests staying at each hotel have access to shuttle transportation (the exact system varies on a hotel-to-hotel basis) to each of Walt Disney World’s four theme parks.

Furthermore, and perhaps most surprisingly, guests staying at the Disney Springs Resort Area hotels receive the same 30-minute Early Entry perk that’s available to on-property Walt Disney World Hotel guests, giving them exclusive access to certain lands, rides, and attractions at each of Walt Disney World’s four theme parks a half an hour before the general public.

Early Entry at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Guests staying at any of the 7 Disney Springs Resort Area hotels have access to a slew of special perks that guests need to know about. Stay tuned to DFB for further coverage of hotel offerings on Disney property.
