Construction is progressing for a highly anticipated attraction at Universal Studios Orlando!

Not too long ago, Universal Orlando Resort made an announcement that Universal Studios would be getting a new Fast and Furious roller coaster! Construction has been underway for a few months now, and the team has made huge progress so far. We recently went to the park to check it out, and we have to show you where they’re at in the process!

The rollercoaster coming to Universal Studios Orlando is called Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift, the same one that was first announced to be coming to Universal Studios Hollywood. The ride will replace Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, which closed in August last year.

The new ride isn’t set to debut until next year in 2027. Universal is hard at work to match their timeline, and you can see it in the construction progress. Outside of the park, you can already see that the first supports have been installed for the rollercoaster!

The first supports are down!

We could see the small blue supports in the ground from outside the park, but we wanted to get another angle from inside the park.

It was crazy seeing the base supports already installed!

Construction is moving fast!

The NEW Fast and Furious ride coming to Universal Studios is completely different than the one Florida currently has, which is Fast and Furious Supercharged. This ride will be a high-speed coaster featuring 360-degree drifting vehicles and a 170-foot vertical spike.

Like we mentioned before, this same roller coaster is actually coming to Universal Hollywood. However, their rollercoaster is opening this year! We were hoping we’d get the same experience in Orlando when we heard about it, and sure enough, it happened.

With this new Fast & Furious ride coming to Orlando, Fast & Furious Supercharged will be permanently closing in 2027. We’re thinking it’s very likely that a new attraction will replace Fast & Furious Supercharged, but nothing has been announced or confirmed yet. The ride really wasn’t that popular, so we’re looking forward to seeing if something else will come in its place.
