Why Homecomin’ Brunch Is Always a Must in Disney World — and What to Order While You’re There
Sitting down at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ in Disney Springs for brunch is one of the BEST decisions you can make during a Disney World vacation!
When it comes to Disney World restaurants, Homecomin’ always makes our favorites list! Serving up brunch, lunch, and dinner, this Disney Springs location nails the consistency we crave when it comes to good table service restaurants. Offering one of the best brunches in all of Disney World, Homecomin’ is a must-visit for fans of hearty eats and Southern cuisine.
Homecomin’ serves The Rise ‘n Shine Brunch — a Southern-style brunch packed with feel-good dishes — every Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Brunch offerings include TONS of delicious dishes, such as chicken & waffles and house-made sugar doughnuts, as well as white refreshing mimosas and flights.
If you’re thinking about trying brunch at Homecomin’, check out some of our recommendations!
Moonshine Flight
The Moonshine Flight is $36 and comes with FIVE different moonshine-based cocktails.
The Mountain Shine is a berry drink with a hint of citrus emanating from an orange peel, and we think it’s quite pleasant!
The Moonshine Margarita is pretty light and akin to a traditional margarita.
The Blue Hooch is cocktail-esque and features a nice depth and fruitiness compared to other moonshine drinks.
The Strawberry Lemonade is another tropical-ish drink that has some delightful fruity tones. It’s smooth and very much like a regular strawberry lemonade — which is dangerous, because you can barely taste the alcohol.
The Sweet Tea is actually sweet and very well balanced.
Overall, the moonshine is hidden quite well in these beverages, which is ideal for brunch when you’re looking for something light. You can also order these drinks individually.
Everglazed Donuts
Doughnuts are a breakfast/brunch staple, and Homecomin’ does them well.
The Everglazed Donuts from the nearby Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew are served here, and they’re just as tasty!
You can get the mini glazed doughnuts for $10, and get them topped with pecans and bacon for an extra $2.
Short Rib Hash
We are OBSESSED with the Short Rib Hash, which is served with two sunny side up eggs over, grilled corn succotash, potatoes, onions, red bell peppers, Fresno peppers, a cheddar cheese drop biscuit, and a choice of side for $28.
When we’ve tried it, it’s been incredibly tender and packed with delicious flavor. It’s almost like a breakfast version of a pot roast. Be warned, however, that this has a bit of a kick.
Cheddar Drop Biscuits
If you do brunch at Homecomin’, you gotta try the Cheddar Drop Biscuits.
These delicious biscuits are served with your choice of blackberry fig jam or sawmill gravy for $10. These famous biscuits are so buttery and cheesy — seriously, they’re perfect. If you only had these, it would be a brunch well spent.
Chicken & Waffles
One of the newer menu additions is the Chicken & Waffles, which is served with a Belgian waffle topped with Chef Art’s famous fried chicken thighs and drizzled with hot honey sauce. This dish costs $28 and also comes dusted with powdered sugar and topped with berries and cane syrup. You ALSO get a choice of side.
If you’re going to Homecomin’, we HAVE to recommend the fried chicken. It’s always so well-seasoned with plenty of crunch — and it’s pairing with a delicious waffle keeps us coming back for more.
Peanut Brittle Cocktail
The newest cocktail we’re obsessed with is the Peanut Brittle Cocktail, which is made with praline liquor, Skrewball Peanut Butter Whisky, salted cream, and coffee. This drink will set you back $14.
This reminded us of a Tim Hortons Iced Capp — but with booze. Our bartender recommended that we get it iced, and we can definitely see why. When you get it at first, the alcohol sits on the bottom, and the cream floats on top, so you’ll need to stir it together. Once stirred, it goes down smoothly. We’re not the biggest fans of the texture of the peanut bits, but the saltiness is balanced, and it’s a classic drink that you can easily sip on during brunch.
