The Ultimate Guide to Drinking Around the World in EPCOT: Secret Rules, Hidden Gems, and Insider Tips
Wanna drink “around the world” in EPCOT on your next Disney trip? Well, you need to read this FIRST.
Drinking around the world is a popular challenge for folks doing bachelor/bachelorette trips, 21st birthdays, or just traveling with other adults. If done right, it can be accomplished, but you have to be careful about how you tackle it. Today, we’re sharing the full guide to drinking around EPCOT’s World Showcase!
The Rules of Alcohol
Before we dive into the tips, tricks, and recommendations, there are some basic rules we’ve got to go over when you’re planning to consume alcohol in Disney World (or, well, anywhere public). First, and most important, is that you need to drink responsibly. Don’t overindulge, don’t go past your limit, and stop if you need to. Remember that EPCOT is still a family park.
For your own personal health, one thing you’ve got to remember while drinking in Disney World is that hydration is SO important. You’re already walking thousands of steps a day, and it’s probably pretty hot when you’re visiting. If you don’t hydrate, you’ll find yourself feeling ill very quickly. A good rule of thumb is to drink a glass of water for every alcoholic beverage.
And of course, another big rule to keep in mind is you need to EAT in between your drinks! You can’t go all day with just alcohol in your stomach, and eating frequently will help keep you going toward your goal.
Last but not least, make sure to be on your best behavior. Remember that there are other guests in the park, especially children, and treat Cast Members with kindness. Be mindful of your personal alcohol limit, and cut yourself off if necessary, especially before Disney security has to. You don’t want to be that guy! And of course, don’t drink and drive. If you drove to EPCOT and can’t drive after, order a rideshare or take Disney transportation.
4 Rules You’re Accidentally Breaking in EPCOT
Most Popular Drinks/Stops in Each Country
Starting in Mexico, the most popular stops here are either La Cava del Tequila or Choza de Margarita. La Cava del Tequila is known for handmade, handcrafted drinks and is famous for its Avocado Margarita. For the frozen, pre-made beverages with a shorter wait time, go to Choza de Margarita.
Next up, we’ve got Norway. Here, the Viking Coffee is a popular choice at Kringla Bakeri og Kafe. They also serve Nordic Draft Beer here. And while you’re there, make sure to grab some pastries!
In the China Pavilion, the most common beverage stop is Joy of Tea, where you can order the Tipsy Ducks in Love (with Bourbon, black tea, coffee, cream, and chocolate) or the Dragon Butterfly (which has Butterfly Pea Flower Gin, vodka, green tea, lemonade, soda water, hibiscus, and dragon fruit syrups with blueberry popping boba). Basically, most of the drinks here have some sort of tea base — very fitting for the culture!
If you’d like, after that, you can stop at the African Outpost. The only place to order here is Refreshment Outpost, which has seasonal beverage offerings depending on the season and whether or not there’s a festival happening in EPCOT.
The next “true” country is Germany, which means it’s time for beer! The Schöfferhofer Pink Grapefruit Hefeweizen – Germany is a popular choice in this pavilion, and you can order it at Sommerfest or at the beer stand in the courtyard.
In Italy, the go-to spot is either Tutto Italia for wine, spritz, bellini, or the Italian Sangria, OR you can stop by Gelateria Toscana to grab the Italian Margarita or one of their alcoholic gelato creations. A dessert and a drink in one!
Up next is the American Adventure. Here, you’re probably looking for a beer, cider, or ale, and there are a few options. There’s an outdoor bar by Regal Eagle Smokehouse, or you could go to Block & Hans to grab something like the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale or the Orange Blossom Pilsner.
Once you get to Japan, there’s a small little stand at the edge of the pavilion called Kabuki Cafe. Here, we love the Sake Mist, which you can order in Blood Orange, Coconut Pineapple, or Blackberry. It’s basically alcoholic shaved ice, and it’s perfect for a hot day! Another fan-favorite spot is the small Garden House stand in the courtyard, where you can get the popular Violet Sake or Tokyo Sunset.
After that, you’ve got Morocco, where you’ll likely make a quick pit stop at Oasis Sips & Sweets to grab the Opici Family Sangria, the Blood Orange Mimosa, or the Frozen Citrus-Pomegranate Slushy. You might even go more unique and get the Frozen Mint Tea. If you’re interested in sitting down, you could take a food break as well and get a table and some small plates at Spice Road Table — it has a full bar.
We’re getting toward the end, so hang in there, because our next stop is FRANCE! Honestly, the typical choice here is Les Vins des Chefs de France, a stand across from the restaurant of the same name. People love the Orange Slush (with Grand Marnier, rum, Grey Goose Orange, and orange juice) and the Citron Slush (with Grey Goose Citron, Vodka, and lemonade) here.
The United Kingdom has one spot that’s beloved above the rest, and fans get HYPED about visiting there — the Rose & Crown Pub has a fun atmosphere and a wide variety of cocktails, flights, scotch whiskey, and pub blends. Many people love the Snake Bite Imperial Pint, which is a blend of cider and Harp Lager.
Finally, we come to the end of our journey with Canada, where the most popular spot to stop is, oddly, the popcorn cart. There, you’ll find the Ottawa Apple, made with Crown Royal Whisky, Maple, Apple Infusion, and Cranberry Juice. It’s a great end to your journey!
Those are some of the most popular drinks, bars, and stops, but what about the hidden gems?

Hidden Gems
You’re definitely not required to stop at any of the spots we mentioned above or order any of those drinks. In fact, sometimes you have a better experience when you avoid those choices! There are a few spots around World Showcase that are less popular and make for a better experience with drinking around the world.
Our first recommendation is the hidden Sangria Bar in Morocco. To find this spot, you’ll need to go off the beaten pathway, back into the bazaar. Near Jasmine’s meet-and-greet, there’s a little stand that sells sangria, as well as beer and hard cider, roasted chickpeas, mixed dates and nuts, and marinated olives. Its official name is the Morocco Snack and Beverage Cart — sexy, we know. It doesn’t seem to have set or regular hours, so you may just have to “happen” upon it and see if it’s open during your visit.
Another little-known spot is Weinkeller in the Germany Pavilion. This is a shop that sells bottles of wine and other souvenirs, but there’s also a hidden bar in the back of the store! Here, you can purchase wine by the glass, beers, and liqueurs, including the Mozart Chocolate Liqueur.
In Japan, there’s a small Sake Bar tucked away upstairs between Teppan Edo and Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya. Not many folks know about it, and it’s most often visited by people dining at the restaurants. You don’t need a reservation to stop by, though!
Along these lines, three gift shops in EPCOT have hidden “bars” inside them, where you can buy something simple like a glass of wine. France has Les Vins de France toward the back of the pavilion, and Italy has a small order counter inside Enoteca Castello. Canada has a spot called Trading Post Refreshments in the back of its only gift shop.
So if you’re looking to drink “off the beaten path” in the park, those should be some of your go-tos

Tips and Best Practices
Looking for some insider tips? Let’s go! We recommend sharing drinks if you’re not used to drinking at this level — remember, there are 11 countries in total, and 12 if you count African Outpost. A great way to share drinks or to get smaller “tastes” is by purchasing flights with friends.
If you’re visiting EPCOT during a festival, don’t forget to take a look at the booth menus! Often, these booths have more interesting beverage options in smaller (and more affordable) portions. Instead of getting full pours, you can go for 6-oz drinks and hurt a lot less at the end of the day.
Not a drinker, but traveling with people who are? Mocktails may not be the way to go. Sometimes they’re overpriced and underwhelming in EPCOT, so instead, consider “snacking around the world” as your alternative. You can keep your drinking friends fed, as well!
Also, it’s important to note that if you purchase a sealed alcoholic beverage in a gift shop, you may not be allowed to open it inside the park. We ran into this issue with the new canned drinks in the Japan Pavilion. There, you’ll need to buy them at Garden House instead of Mitsukoshi if you want to consume them during your visit. When in doubt, ask the Cast Members.
Don’t forget to pace yourself when doing this challenge. Stop and enjoy each country. See the entertainment, do a ride, grab a meal. Don’t rush. If you don’t feel like you can continue, it’s okay to stop. In fact, you can even go into your EPCOT day deciding to skip a few countries if you’re not interested in what they have to offer.
Remember, you don’t HAVE to drink around the world in EPCOT, even if other members of your party are! Only attempt this challenge if you really want to, and when you do attempt it, be responsible.
