REVIEW: This Disney World Hotel Restaurant Adds 3 NEW Items, and We Tried Them ALL!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is known for having some of the best dining options out of the four theme parks, but Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge can’t be forgotten either!
There are so many great spots to eat here, but one of our ultimate favorites is Sanaa. Now, we will say that most of the restaurants here are more suited for adventurous eaters, so picky eaters may have a little more trouble finding something they like, but if you’re looking for some unique eats and aren’t opposed to spice, there are three new menu items you’ve gotta check out!
Sanaa is known for having a tasty cuisine that’s a combination of Indian and African flavors. There are three new menu offerings on the menu, and we took a bite of the Tandoori-spiced Chicken Sandwich for $21 first. This is Tandoori-spiced Chicken in Warm Naan with Preserved Lemon Crema, Sweet Peppers, House-made Pickle, and Fresh Coriander.
Our server warned us this was going to be a spicy sandwich, and while they weren’t wrong, we felt it was all balanced very well. The chicken itself was spiced and seasoned beautifully and was perfectly juicy. The lemon crema and the fresh coriander help to balance it out with its cooler sensation. We loved the house-made chips too, as they were also perfectly seasoned. We actually chose to use the Cucumber Raita from one of our other dishes to dip them into and loved it, so we recommend asking for a side of it!
Next up was the Lamb Kefta Naanwich for $22, which is Seasonal Ground Lamb topped with Pickled Onions and Fresh Herbs on Onion Kulcha with Mango Chutney, Cucumber Raita, and Red Chile Sambal.
This is also a spicier sandwich, but we do feel this one was also balanced very well. The naan was perfectly chewy and tender, and we feel it was the perfect bread for this sandwich, as it held everything together while letting the other ingredients shine. The lamb is beautifully cooked, super tender, and spiced very well. We really loved that the pickled onions helped cut through the rich flavor of the lamb a bit, and we loved the way the arugula basically melted into the sandwich and added a bit of a peppery touch. Cucumber Raita, Red Chile Sambal, and Peach Chutney come with this dish for the chips. The Red Chile Sambal was the spiciest, the Peach Chutney had a pleasant, slight burn, and the Cucumber Raita cooled everything down wonderfully.
Finally, we grabbed the Crowned Crane Black Sesame Entremet for $11, which is Black Sesame Mousse, Chai Tea Caramel, Ras el Hanout Pineapple, and Raspberry.
This was rich and creamy, and we loved the black sesame flavor of the custard, complete with a nutty finish of the entremet. You’ll want to pick up pieces of the dried raspberry and the pineapple in each bite, and we loved the way the raspberry added a different, crunchy texture and added a bit of tartness. We do think this is a bit of a more adventurous dessert, so we recommend making sure you’re open to both the taste and texture of the black sesame entremet before you grab it!
