REVIEW: This $16 Disney World Milkshake Has Us Going “Uh, What?”

Spring in Disney World means many things, but for one, it means lots of new snacks are on their way into the parks for the season!

Time for a new treat!

Fortunately, Disney hasn’t released ALL the new treats at one time, so we can take our time heading to them and giving them our full attention. We heard there was a new shake over at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop, which can also be snagged at the To-Go Window, and while we enjoyed it overall, we have to admit that the reality looked NOTHING like the photo!

Beaches & Cream Soda Shop is a table service dining spot, meaning that you need a reservation (or one is highly recommended), but the To-Go Window doesn’t require any advance planning, other than looking at the hours of operation. You can walk right up and order from the menu, but keep in mind that the menu from the window is different from the restaurant itself, as not everything is available! If you’re not staying at an EPCOT area resort, you can walk on over straight from the International Gateway in EPCOT, which is between the UK and France pavilions.

Beach & Cream To Go!

We stopped by to try the new Spring Shake for $16, which is a Vanilla Shake with Orange-Tangerine Syrup, Condensed Milk, and Orange Sprinkles topped with an Orange Macaron. Before we show you the actual shake itself, you need to see the promotional photo, because then you’ll see how different it is from what we were given.

The promotional photo

Our shake didn’t have that whipped cream on top of it at all, and the macaron was almost buried beneath the rim of the cup. Overall, we don’t feel it affected the taste, but it definitely was a bit of a shock when it looked pretty different from the photo.

Spring Shake

The orange flavor in here mostly gives us the vibe of orange creamsicle, though there were some sips where we got a hint of that medicinal orange taste. That medicinal taste was VERY present in the macaron, so unless you’re a fan of that, we recommend skipping that part. We don’t think we’d get the shake again, but if you’re a really big fan of orange, or your kids are, we think you may enjoy it; otherwise, we think there are better options around, even just here at the window.

The macaron had a very medicinal taste
