Hotel Transportation CLOSURE Starts NEXT WEEK in Disney World

2026 is the year of construction at Disney World. Some popular rides are still undergoing reconstruction, big hotels are getting some updates, and that’s just scratching the surface.

If you’re headed to Wilderness Lodge any time soon, you should also know that even transportation is changing for a limited time. If you’re a fan of those relaxing boat rides to and from the park, you need to read this!

In case you missed it, the boat dock at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is going through some routine maintenance very soon. The maintenance on the dock will mean that there are no boat rides between the hotel and the Magic Kingdom during the updates, which can be a big bummer for those staying at the resort. Luckily, the closure won’t last too long!

During the maintenance, boat transportation will be suspended from April 13th until May 1st. The maintenance to the dock will last until late July 2026, but boat transportation should be running again starting on May 2nd.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

The boat runs between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Magic Kingdom, Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort, so this might throw a wrench into your plans during your stay. You can still get to these spots thanks to Disney buses, so it’s not all bad news!

Now those bus routes won’t be as straightforward as the boats typically are. You won’t be able to take a bus directly from Wilderness Lodge to the Contemporary resort, so if you want to check out the other hotel, you will need to take a bus to Magic Kingdom and then walk or take the monorail over to the Contemporary.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is home to several of our favorite dining spots, like Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White, Whispering Canyon Cafe, and Geyser Point Bar & Grill. Even if you’re not staying at the resort, we love to head over for the relaxing atmosphere, tasty bites, and more.
