You Won’t Believe the Crowds in Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the Closing of This Popular Ride
I feel like I’m repeating myself when I say, “it’s the end of an era.” We’ve been saying that a lot lately, as we’ve had to say goodbye to a lot of classic Disney World attractions like Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat in Magic Kingdom, all of DinoLand U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Muppets Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Saying goodbye to the Muppets, though, was bittersweet because they’re moving over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to take over that ride. But that means we have to say goodbye to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and today is the last day to do so. Well, we headed to Hollywood Studios to pay our respects and enjoy some “Love in a Roller Coaster” one last time.
When we arrived at Hollywood Studios, things were busy as people streamed into the park’s entrance.
So where was everyone headed? Well, we had barely even stepped through the park’s entrance when we noticed a line…a very long line.
Yep, that line is for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith! WILD. Here’s where the end of the line was at the time. Yes, it’s reaching PAST Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway! In fact, it’s actually going backstage between the Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After theater and Tower of Terror.
The wait time was 85 minutes, and there were no Lightning Lane Multipass options for the ride left. Yep, this ride is going to be ROCKING all day long.
As of tomorrow, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will be closed forever. The ride will reopen sometime this summer with the new Muppets theme. The two attractions will share a similar story and pre-show, but we can imagine that the Muppets version will have way more chaos and hijinks. We’ll be keeping an eye out for updates about the new ride, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
