Where Is TSA PreCheck Expanding Its Best Perk Yet? Full List of Locations

TSA PreCheck just made getting through airport security even easier, and this update is a big deal for frequent flyers.

TSA PreCheck Touchless Identity Solution

Starting in Spring 2026, a new Touchless ID feature is rolling out to 65 airports across the country, letting eligible travelers skip the document shuffle entirely. If you’re someone who already loves the PreCheck lanes, here’s everything you need to know before your next trip.

What Is TSA PreCheck Touchless ID?

TSA PreCheck Touchless ID uses facial comparison technology to verify your identity faster than ever. Instead of pulling out your passport or driver’s license, a quick photo does the work for you.

The goal is a smoother, more streamlined experience from the moment you hit the security line, and honestly, it sounds like a pretty seamless upgrade for anyone who’s tired of fumbling through their bag at the checkpoint.

Who’s Eligible?

Not everyone can jump into the Touchless ID lane right away. To participate, you need to be a current TSA PreCheck member, have an active profile with a participating airline, and have a valid passport number uploaded to that profile.

The five airlines currently on board are Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines. If you fly one of these carriers regularly, you’re in a good position to take advantage.

How Do You Sign Up?

The setup process is pretty painless. Head into your airline profile and enter your Known Traveler Number along with your passport details. From there, you’ll select “OPT IN” either through your profile or during airline check-in. Once you’re set up, look for the TSA PreCheck Touchless ID indicator on your mobile boarding pass before heading to the dedicated lane.

One important note: even with Touchless ID, you still need to carry a REAL-ID compliant physical ID with you in case a TSA officer asks for it.

Why Bother Using It?

Beyond the obvious convenience of not having to dig out your passport, the program is designed to speed things up across the board.

The facial comparison tech handles identity verification quickly and accurately, and your biometric data is handled with care. Photos and personal data are deleted within 24 hours of your scheduled flight departure, and images are not used for law enforcement or surveillance purposes.
