New Closing Dates, Dining Changes, and Construction Chaos: A Rundown of NEW Disney World Updates!

March was a busy month for Disney World! They kept us on our toes with all of the news and updates.

This month, we kicked off the 2026 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival, said goodbye to a beloved attraction, and got a ton of news about the parks’ future. We’re here to give you the full rundown of everything that happened this month.

Closing Dates

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith 

On March 2nd, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith closed for good. Now, the ride undergoes a transformation to become Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, which is expected to open this summer.

This Hollywood Studios Ride Is Now Permanently CLOSED

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is closed!

Dining Changes

Grand Floridian Cafe 

The Grand Floridian Cafe will temporarily close for a refresh from mid-July to October 2026. Brunch will continue to be offered, but it will temporarily move to Citricos, and guests may see or hear the refurbishment work during the daytime hours.

Floridian style Eggs Benedict

Turf Club Bar and Grill Closing 

From mid-March through mid-September 2026, the Turf Club Bar & Grill and the Turf Club Lounge at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort will be under refurbishment. During this refurbishment, some areas will be temporarily closed, but the good news is they won’t all be closed at the same time.

Construction Updates

Monsters Inc. Construction Updates

We’ve been able to track progress on the ride coming to Monstropolis, which is a hanging door roller coaster. We’ve been watching them work on the ground, and you can really tell how huge it is! We’re always so grateful for these aerial photos from bioreconstruct on X.

Cinderella’s Castle Repainting

We recently went to the Magic Kingdom to check on the project, so we can get updated and so we can update you. Our most recent update is going to shock you with how much progress has been made! The majority of the castle repainting is complete.

Vans Coming to Disney Springs

It looks like a Vans store will be opening at Disney Springs soon! On a recent trip, we noticed new signage in the space that formerly housed the Volcom store and, more recently, Disney’s Enchanted Holiday Art Gallery.

Saratoga Springs Treehouse Refurbishments

Over at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, you’ll find some of the coolest hotel rooms that Disney World has to offer — Treehouse Villas! From now through mid-September 2026, refurbishment work will take place in phases at Saratoga Springs Resort, including refurbishments for the Treehouse Villas. If you’re staying at the resort, you may see or hear construction work during the daytime hours.

Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom has been closed for refurbishment for a while, but Disney finally announced an opening date. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be reopening on April 8th, 2026!

Big Thunder Mountain

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom has been closed for over a year, and we’ve been (not-so-patiently) waiting for Disney to let us know when we can expect to ride it again. Well, they finally announced it will be refurbished in early May!

There is a lot of construction happening at Hollywood Studios, but the Walt Disney Studios Courtyard will actually open VERY soon! Disney recently announced Walt Disney Studios Courtyard, and the new Clubhouse Dance Party is officially opening on May 26th, 2026.

Soarin’ Across America

Soarin’ Around the World is getting a patriotic makeover for the 250th birthday of the U.S.A., changing into Soarin’ Across America. According to the Disney World website, Soarin’ Across America will debut on May 26th, 2026. To make way for the changes, Soarin’ Around the World will close on May 13th, 2026.

Bluey is Coming to Disney World

Get ready to meet Bluey and Bingo at Disney World! Starting on May 26th, you’ll be able to play games and dance with Bluey and Bingo at Conservation Station at Animal Kingdom!
