“Bus Lice” Are Causing Chaos in Disney World, and We Need to Talk About It
One of the greatest benefits of Disney World is the free transportation, but just like everything, there’s the bad that comes with the good.
Disney bus
Disney buses can be one of the easiest Disney World transportation options as they are offered at every park and Disney resort, making it easy to get around. However, some things can make the bus ride a bummer, and it starts with bus lice.
Beware of this issue when using bus transportation. You might find many people don’t form lines when getting onto the bus. Traditionally, the bus drivers will load those with mobility devices into the bus first from the middle door and then have everyone else enter through the door in the front.

If you’ve ever waited for the bus at the resort, there are a few benches but a big open space, versus the bus stations at the parks, which have stanchions for guests to line up in. We love it when there’s a queue, so the first to arrive get on the bus the soonest, securing those desired seats.
Disney Bus
Entering from the resorts, typically, a line doesn’t form, so it can be a bit chaotic! Just like the “gate lice” that crowd an airport gate long before their boarding group is called, we have experienced “bus lice” who crowd around the doors of Disney buses before it’s time to get on board. You might have been the first to the stop, so you decide to wait on the bench, and when your bus comes, everyone runs in front.
So, if you’re heading onto the bus, try to let those who have obviously been waiting a while go first, but also take a step back and try to get a line to form. It helps everyone load more quickly and comfortably. Also, be aware that you might not board in the order that you came. Stay patient! Disney is great with its transportation and tries to fit as many people as it can.
