This Fireworks Upgrade Costs $129 But Is Totally Worth it in Disney World

The fireworks at Magic Kingdom are truly a magical experience, and if you thought “it just can’t get better than this“, we’re here to tell you, it can.

Happily Ever After

If you tear up during Happily Ever After while standing on Main Street, U.S.A, you’re not alone. I’ve been going to Disney World for decades, and for me, watching the fireworks is truly something special that I look forward to with every trip. That’s why, when I started adding this one thing to my Disney trips, I don’t regret it.

Happily Ever After is Magic Kingdom’s current fireworks show, and it lights up the park each night (depending on the weather) and finishes off with Tinker Bell flying over the park!

There is nothing like this show, the feelings it brings, and the music that will be stuck in your head for days after your Disney trip. It’s a must on our Magic Kingdom to-do list, but did you know you can make this Disney tradition even better? Disney World hosts Fireworks Dessert Parties each night during Happily Ever After, and it can make your perfect day even better.

Tomorrowland Terrace firework dessert party!

There are three versions of the party to experience: before, during, and after the fireworks! These parties offer guests a chance to watch the fireworks with special seating while enjoying snacks and special beverages. The  Magic Kingdom Fireworks Pre-Party Dessert Party begins at Tomorrowland Terrace, where you can snack on cheeses, sweets, and a selection of beers and wines for those who are 21 or older.

During the fireworks, guests are escorted to a special standing area in the Magic Kingdom Plaza Garden to watch the show! The Magic Kingdom Fireworks Seats & Sweets Party takes place during the fireworks show, where guests get the same food offerings, and then they remain at Tomorrowland Terrace to watch the nighttime show.

Bar Options

Finally, the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Post-Party starts at the special standing area in the Magic Kingdom plaza garden before going to Tomorrowland Terrace after the fireworks have concluded to enjoy the bites and drinks. These parties are held on select nights, and availability can vary by party version.

Cheese, crackers, and fruit

The price will vary by night, but you can expect $99 to $109 per adult and $59 per child for the Pre-Party and the Post-Party experiences. For the Seats and Sweet party, you can expect to pay from $119 to $129 per adult and $74 per child. It’s important to remember that Disney considers ages 10 and up as adults. 

Check-In Time

If you’re attending the Pre-Party Dessert Party, you should report to Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant 90 minutes before the evening’s designated Fireworks time. If you’re trying the Seats & Sweets Party or Post-Party, you should report to Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant 60 minutes before the evening’s designated Fireworks time.

It’s also important to remember this doesn’t include your park ticket, so this will be purchased in addition to your admission. You also should remember to check the nighttime show times on the day of your experience, just to make sure you know the correct time! Happily Ever After changes times throughout the year, and although a day of change is unlikely, it doesn’t hurt to check.

If you are heading to a holiday party, like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, there are special dessert parties for those as well that are an extra price on top of the party ticket!

Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party

This is the ultimate way to upgrade your Disney World fireworks experience if you’re looking for something to make a special occasion even better or looking to do something you’ve never done in the parks! If you’re hoping to save some money, these parties aren’t a necessity to watch the fireworks, so they aren’t a must-do, especially if it’s your first time in the parks.
