New PHOTOS Show a Behind-the-Scenes Look at the New Magic Kingdom ‘Cars’ Area
New photos show an aerial view of the construction progress at Piston Peak National Park in Magic Kingdom. We have been keeping a close eye on the construction from the ground, but with all the construction walls, it can be hard to see what is happening in the area.
However, Bioreconstruct just shared a ton of new photos, giving us a glimpse into what is happening behind the walls. It is always exciting to see the progress in new areas at Disney World, so let’s take a look at these new photos!
The photos showed concrete forms with rebar being placed in the new area. These are the first foundations for the ride route for one of the new attractions.
We can also see some of the elevation changes being added to this area. A plateau is being built in the middle of Piston Peak National Park.
There is also additional land clearing happening near the Haunted Mansion and the “it’s a small world” ride buildings.
The pictures also give us a look at the scrim up around the Haunted Mansion facade. The attraction is still open, but much of the building is currently covered by green scrim.
Beyond Big Thunder Mountain, we can also see work being done on what will eventually become the new Villains land in Magic Kingdom.
The new Piston Peak National Park area in Magic Kingdom is inspired by the movie Cars. Piston Peak will invite guests to enter the world of Cars with a National Park twist. So far, Disney has announced that this new area will feature two NEW Cars attractions. There will be a rally race-themed attraction that will have riders racing through mountains on wild terrain, dodging geysers, and splashing through mud holes. The queue for this attraction will be housed in the visitor lodge of Piston Peak National Park.
Additionally, there will be a family-friendly attraction geared toward “smaller racers” that will still be fun for the whole family. Throughout Piston Peak National Park, there will be “car-ified” elements, such as lower windows for cars to see out of and entrances large enough for cars. There will even be a geyser inspired by Old Faithful called Old Tankful. The geyser will erupt periodically throughout the day, and guests can even race around it.
We are in the parks every single day, and we are always on the lookout for the latest Disney news. We want to make sure you always have the most up-to-date Disney news, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
