This Is Your OFFICIAL WARNING for Visiting Disney World This Week
Cooler weather is coming to Disney World! If you are heading to Disney World soon, you will want to pack some warmer clothes as lows are about to dip into the 30s and 40s. While the high will be about 79 degrees today, December 29th, get ready for some sweater weather starting tonight!
The high on Tuesday and Wednesday is just 60 degrees, with a low of 35 degrees on Tuesday and 40 degrees on Wednesday. It will start to warm up a bit on Thursday, with a high of 68 and a low of 44. Then, it will be back up to highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s starting Friday.
While Florida is known as the Sunshine State and for its warm weather, it can get a bit chilly at times! You will especially want to prepare for the evenings, as it usually gets cooler and you don’t have the sun to warm you up a bit. The cold front is coming just in time for the New Year, so if you are headed to New Year’s Eve festivities in Disney World, you will want to pack some warm clothes!
Here is a look at the highs and lows for the next few days:
- Monday, December 29th: 79/45
- Tuesday, December 30th: 60/35
- Wednesday, December 31st: 60/40
- Thursday, January 1st: 68/44
- Friday, January 2nd: 71/53
- Saturday, January 3rd: 76/59
- Sunday, January 4th: 72/53
We recommend packing layers so you can easily add or remove them. It isn’t uncommon to start the day on the chilly side, and by the afternoon, it feels warm. There might even be days when you will want to have a sweater all day, and possibly an additional layer for the evening. While Florida doesn’t get bitterly cold, we still want to make sure you are comfortable during your trip.
The good news is that Disney will happily sell you a sweatshirt when the temperatures drop, but to save a bit of money, we definitely recommend packing your own sweater! Also, if you plan to visit a waterpark during your trip, make sure you keep a close eye on it. The water parks will close during cooler temperatures, so be prepared for a change in plans. Currently, Typhoon Lagoon is the only waterpark open, but it will likely close due to the upcoming cold front. Of course, we will keep you updated if Disney announces a temporary closure!
