Stop Paying for These 3 Things in Disney World. Your Credit Card Already Does!

If you have a Disney Visa Credit Card, there’s a very good chance you’re using it for snacks, souvenirs, and overall vacation budgeting. That’s why you got the card after all, right? But you might be completely missing some serious savings, nevertheless…

Whether you’re already a cardmember or thinking about becoming one, it’s important to factor in what kind of perks this credit card comes with. Like other credit card loyalty programs, the Disney Visa Credit Card through Chase Bank offers plenty of savings and cardmember opportunities — specifically for Disney-related activities. We’re talking dining and shopping discounts, special photo ops, vacation financing, special merchandise, and so much more. If you have this card, there are certain things you won’t even need to pay for during a Disney vacation!

Let’s talk about three things Disney World visitors keep paying for — even though their Disney Visa already includes coverage.

1. Rental Car Insurance

If you’ve ever rented a car in the Disney World area in order to stay off-site, explore Florida, or have some freedom with your preferred method of transportation, you’ve probably been offered rental car insurance at the counter. Whether or not you’ve said yes, it’s important to know that your Disney Visa may have already had you covered.

Most Disney Visa cards include Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver when you pay for the rental with your Disney Visa and decline the rental company’s coverage.

This coverage includes damage or theft of the rental vehicle and a waiver of the daily insurance fee.

A 5 to 7-day rental can easily add up to hundreds of dollars in insurance costs that your Disney Visa may already cover. However, keep in mind that your card’s coverage is secondary, meaning it kicks in after your personal auto insurance. With that said, for most travelers, that’s still more than enough to put you at ease and give you a nice security blanket.

2. Trip Protection

Disney trips don’t always go according to plan. Sometimes flights get delayed, weather happens, you get stuck at an airport, your bags get lost, etc., connecting flights turn into overnight stays. With that in mind, your card may already include trip interruption and delay protection when your trip is paid for with the card.

You may be able to get reimbursements for things like unexpected hotel stays, meals during delays, toiletries, and transportation costs. Yes, you read that right — food can be free, even in the Disney area. To qualify for this reimbursement, your trip must be delayed by more than 6 hours or require an overnight stay due to a covered hazard such as bad weather or mechanical issues. To file a claim, you’ll need to reach out to Chase after the delay and provide receipts. SAVE THOSE RECEIPTS!!! Refer to your specific Disney Visa Card’s “Guide to Benefits” on the Chase website for limitations and coverage specifics.

Additionally, your card includes more protections, like Baggage Delay Insurance — which reimburses you up to $100 a day for up to 3 days for essential purchases like toiletries and clothing when baggage is delayed over 6 hours. You also get Purchase Protection, which covers your eligible new purchases for 120 days from the date of purchase against damage or theft up to $500 per item.

3. Paying Full Price

I already mentioned how you get shopping and dining discounts with the Disney Visa — SO USE THEM!

Emporium

Lots of retail locations and restaurants at Disney World accept the Disney Visa, so be sure to ask before you check out if you can apply your Disney Visa to the bill. STOP PAYING FULL PRICE!

Your card comes with 10% off select merchandise credit card purchases at select locations on most days at the Disneyland Resort and Disney World Resort, as well as aboard Disney Cruise Line ships.

You also get 10% off select dining locations most days at both theme park resorts when you use the card.

Additionally, the card gives you 15% off the non-discounted price of select guided tours at the Parks and 10% off select credit card purchases at DisneyStore.com.

If you have this card, you can save so much money on practically everything during your next Disney World visit, and there’s hardly any need to pay full price again!
