NEWS: Opening Date Announced for NEW Florida Roller Coaster
Yesterday was a BIG day for Legoland Florida, and it wasn’t only because they had their holiday tree lighting ceremony!
A big announcement was made last night!
We were so thrilled to be invited to the Tree Lighting Ceremony, which was beautiful and wonderful in itself, but imagine our surprise when Legoland had another surprise for us — an opening date reveal for their new attraction in the form of a drone show!
It was just revealed by Legoland itself that the new Galacticoaster will be coming to the resort on February 27th, 2026! Legoland Florida revealed the news with a few impressive drone show at the holiday tree lighting, along with the appearance of some outer space friends.

Before we left for the night, we also got a little token that reminded us of the attraction’s opening date, which makes it even easier to add it to our calendar — we can’t wait to check it out!

This space-themed coaster will reach up to 40 mph, will feature ride vehicles that seat four passengers in one row, and has a new character named Space Creature! According to Rob Smith, the chief operating officer of Legoland Merlin Entertainments Group, the ride will also feature customization elements. He also noted that, “you get on board your spacecraft, and as you get ready for takeoff, your spacecraft, with you sitting in it, is projected onto technology screens before you launch into space.”

He went on to explain that there are more than 620 combinations of decorative vehicle elements, including nose, wing, and tail color, which means every ride could be different! He continued on to say, “It’s not just about Lego play. It’s about Lego imagination. Merlin is always finding new ways to make every visit unique.”
