MEGA REVIEW: 6 NEW Snacks Just Arrived in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and We Tried Them ALL

Happy Holidays from all of us at DFB. As you may know, the holiday season is in full swing in Disney World, and we’ve been making our way around Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, and the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays to get you reviews of ALL the special holiday food and drinks.

Spot the hidden Mickey on our snack?

We’re also spending time in the parks and Disney Springs trying out all the holiday food and drinks available there, and now, we’re heading to Disney’s Animal Kingdom to tell you about a few NEW holiday treats, as well as some treats celebrating Zootopia 2 and Avatar: Fire and Ash. So are these new treats worth your time and money? Let’s find out!

We’re starting at Creature Comforts, aka the Starbucks location in Animal Kingdom. Here, you can get a Peppermint Ganache Brownie for $5.79, which is a fudge brownie topped with peppermint-white chocolate ganache and peppermint pieces. This is a super cute treat.

Peppermint ganache brownie

The chocolate flavor is the predominant flavor, and it tasted a lot like those mini brownies you can buy in packs at the grocery store, except it’s a bit thicker. We had a hard time cutting into it. It’s a pretty basic snack, with a lot of peppermint flavor, thanks to the ganache, but it’s nothing really special, at least as far as flavors go.

It’s a little hard

Next up, we grabbed the Cranberry-Cherry Cheesecake Pop at Flame Tree Barbecue. This is white chocolate cheesecake with cranberry-cherry swirl dipped in dark chocolate with cookie crust for $6.29. This is another cute snack with a fun design that even includes a hidden Mickey.

Cranberry-Cherry Cheesecake Pop

You’ve got that nice dark chocolate coating that pairs well with the creaminess of the cheesecake and the tartness of the cranberry and cherry, which tasted a lot like raspberry to us. So it tasted like raspberry cheesecake dipped in dark chocolate with a little bit of cookie crust. And you know what? We’re not mad about it.

It’s SO good

Okay, so technically, the next snack we tried isn’t a holiday treat PER SE, but it’s a Zootopia 2-themed treat. The Gary De’Snake Macaron at Pizzafari is a passion fruit ganache-filled macaron with raspberry jelly décor and chocolate décor for $6.49. The macaron is HUGE, plus it’s charming with the Gary design on the white chocolate medallion. And the little tongue sticking out of the macaron is ADORABLE.

Gary De’Snake Macaron

The macaron itself is soft, and the passion fruit ganache is SO fruity and wonderful –– and that’s where a lot of the flavor of this little guy is coming from because the macaron is just like a plain vanilla macaron. The little tongue is like a fruit roll-up. This is one snack we’d get again because WHO KNEW you could get a good macaron OUTSIDE EPCOT? Also, kids and Zootopia fans are going to love it.

The little tongue, though!

So we’ve got another movie promotional treat coming your way. It’s the Nightwraith Blaze, a drink themed around Avatar: Fire and Ash. It’s available at Pongu Pongu for $10.29, and it’s a blood orange, lychee, and wildberry slushy topped with a glow cube and passion fruit juice-filled pearls. Nightwraiths are a new kind of flying creature introduced in the movie, so this drink is dedicated to them. We’re just going to tell you now…this is even better than the standard drink here, the Night Blossom.

Nightwraith Blaze

It’s a grown-up take on fruit punch with the blood orange and lychee flavors combining to give you that kind of vibe. The popping pearls are also delicious with that passion fruit flavor we love, and that, too, blends with the drink to create a satisfying whole. We think this one is going to be super popular because we saw several people walking around with it when we visited Pandora.

The New MUST drink in Pandora

Okay, we’ve got another new drink that’s celebrating the release of Avatar: Fire and Ash. The Trader’s Tailwind at Satu’li Canteen is made with Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum, Bols Triple Sec Liqueur, Mango Purée, Minute Maid Orange Juice, Chamoy, and Ginger Beer with a Chili-Lime-rimmed Glass garnished with a Dehydrated Blood Orange Wheel for $16.50. Yep, there is a LOT going on with this drink.

Trader’s Tailwind

We are going to have to praise the geniuses who came up with these new Pandora treats, y’all. The theming is SO on point, and the flavors are so interesting. So this has officially become our new favorite margarita in Disney World. It has such a perfect balance of flavor, despite all of those ingredients. There’s a nice low heat mixed with a sweet, tangy juiciness, and that Tajin rim. PERFECTION. But y’all, it is NOT cheap. This is a $17 margarita, but we won’t lie, we would probably still order it again.

It’s good, but it’s pricey

Satu’li Canteen has also introduced the Mangkwan Mousse, which is a Cinnamon-Milk Chocolate Mousse, Caramelized Banana Cake, Banana- Sesame Caramel, and Chocolate-Sesame Crumble for $6.29. Okay, first up, this snack really does look like it came from an alien planet.

Metkayina Mousse

Our taste buds were so confused with this mousse…but in a good way. It’s sort of like a creme brulee, but in mousse form. Then it has a banana nut bread interior, and that caramelized drip with a hint of chocolate and sesame on top. Just WOW. It shouldn’t work. But it does. We love how unique it looks, but also how unique it tastes. The only bad part of all this is that these treats are probably only available for a limited time, so you’ll want to run to Pandora ASAP to try these.

Spoiler: it’s delicious.
