NEWS: A Disney World Hotel Perk Is CHANGING (And We Think You’ll LOVE It!)

We’ve got great news if you typically fly Southwest Airlines to Disney World!

Luggage Check

Earlier this year, Disney began testing a pilot program that allowed guests at Disney World Value hotels — who were flying on Southwest Airlines — to have their bags delivered directly to their flight out of Orlando International Airport. Now, it looks like that program is being expanded, and we’ve got all the details!

Planning guide for the ultimate Disney vacation

Beginning November 18th, guests arriving on domestic Southwest Airlines flights at Orlando International Airport (MCO) and staying at select Disney World hotels will have the option to skip baggage claim and have their bags delivered directly to their resort.

Luggage transfer in Disney World!

The service will be provided by a third-party — BagCheck — who will facilitate transportation of luggage from the airport to Disney World hotels within “approximately four hours” of arrival. All travelers need to do is check their luggage at the Southwest bag drop area or ticket counter to utilize this service.

Folks will be receiving an email about this service this week, which you can read below:

Dear Guest,

We’re excited to share a new pilot program for guests flying Southwest Airlines into Orlando International Airport (MCO) and staying at select Disney Resorts Collection hotels. This convenient service lets you skip baggage claim and have your checked luggage delivered directly to your Disney Resort hotel.

The service will begin operating for flights arriving November 18, 2025 or later. If you’d like to take advantage of the service, your registration window opens 30 days prior to departure and closes 5 days prior to departure.

At this time, it’s unclear if the service will be expanded to more than just the value resorts. For now, the Airport Luggage Transfer service is available at the following hotels:

  • Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
  • Disney’s Pop Century Resort

Disney has updated its website with information about how the service will work when it rolls out:

  1. Fill out the registration form for the Airport Luggage Transfer at Disney service anytime from 30 days to 5 days prior to your departure flight. You will need your Disney Resort confirmation number and your Southwest Airlines confirmation number when you register. You will receive a confirmation email after registering.
  2. Check in to your flight online as normal and pay any necessary baggage fees.
  3. Head to the airport and follow the Southwest Airlines procedure to drop off your luggage.
  4. Enjoy your flight!
  5. Upon arrival at Orlando International Airport, skip baggage claim and head directly to Walt Disney World Resort. Your luggage will arrive at your Resort hotel in under 4 hours.

We’re thrilled to see this service expanding, as it hopefully means more hotels will be participating in the Airport Luggage Transfer in the future. We’ll be sure to let you know if any more updates to this service are announced.

We’ll be on the lookout for the latest updates from Disney World and beyond. In the meantime, stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more!
