Why Disney Adults Are Suddenly Running Away From This Pavilion at EPCOT

Disney Adults are saying arrivederci! to a popular EPCOT pavilion for now.

Over my 7 years of covering Disney’s theme parks, I’ve seen the popularity of EPCOT World Showcase pavilions ebb and flow. New snacks — or even new rides — will lead to a spike in popularity for a particular country for a while before crowds move on, while on the other side of the coin, a disappointing reveal or simple stagnation will leave some pavilions on the skip list. Currently, the park’s Italy Pavilion is facing that issue.

The biggest reasons that Disney Adults are currently skipping over the EPCOT both have to do with the 2025 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. First off, the pavilion’s Food & Wine Festival booth is – once again – a disappointment. Despite offerings that sound good on paper – such as Bacetti ‘Kisses’ di Pizza or Tortellini alla Vodka – the booth is a definite skip as far as we’re concerned.

As we wrote in our review, “Italy has so much potential, but it seems like it just often gets wasted, and we end up with food that’s okay, but nothing remarkable. This year seems to be the same, and we really wish Italy would just get it together.”

The other Food & Wine issue is actually related to Italy’s neighbor pavilion, The American Adventure. The World Showcase’s central pavilion is home to America Gardens Theater, which plays host to the mega-popular Eat to the Beat concert series. Given the popularity of the concerts, long lines will often form for admission to each show. So long in fact that they often spill over into the Italy Pavilion, leading to a mass of humanity that makes the area hard to enjoy.

So, once you take an underwhelming — to put it kindly — festival booth and combine it with long lines and crowds waiting for concert performances, you get an Italy Pavilion that many guests are passing over for now. Stay tuned to DFB for more on the Food & Wine Festival.
