Disney World Announces Multiple 2027 Refurbishment Projects at the BoardWalk Hotel

Okay, if you’re like us, you’re planning your Disney World vacations WAY in advance…like maybe even two years out (hey, I’m as guilty as anyone, but we ALL need Disney trips to look forward to, right?).

So you might be in the process of thinking about your 2027 Disney World trip — trust us, we won’t judge! Well, if you are, you’ll need to know something important about at least one Disney World hotel: Disney’s BoardWalk Inn will have multiple parts of its resort under construction in 2027. In other words, think twice before booking that hotel.

We have confirmed that the following will be closed for routine maintenance at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn from January 11th, 2027 through April 2027: the Luna Park Pool, the Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations. That means if you’re visiting during that time, you may see and hear construction.

That’s not all, though. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is located in the EPCOT area, which means it has access to the EPCOT Skyliner. BUT we recently learned that the entire Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment from  January 24th to January 30th, 2027. In the meantime, buses will be available to take you from the EPCOT-area hotels to Disney’s Hollywood Studios (and EPCOT is just a short walk or boat ride away). You will also still be able to take a boat to Disney’s Hollywood Studios from the hotel.

However, this might throw a bit of a wrench in your plans if you’re staying in the area. Note that although there will be a lot of construction happening at the BoardWalk Inn, you still have to pay full price for the hotel (unless you score a deal), so you might want to rethink if it’s worth it. Granted, you have other options in the area, including Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin (a hotel you probably shouldn’t sleep on!). You’ll have tons of choices on things to do…and things to eat in this area, trust me!
