BREAKING: DINOSAUR CLOSING DATE Announced for Disney World!

Dinosaur has been a staple at Animal Kingdom since the attraction debuted as Countdown to Extinction when the park opened in 1998. Now Disney has announced its official closing date to make way for a new version of a classic Disneyland experience. The attraction’s closure comes as part of the construction of the new Tropical Americas area at Animal Kingdom.

Disney has officially confirmed that Dinosaur will be closing on February 2nd, 2o26. This means the final day to experience DINOSAUR, The Dino Institute Shop, Restaurantosaurus, and Restaurantosaurus Lounge is February 1st.

Dinosaur will be turning into an Indiana Jones attraction as part of the area’s transformation. Disney aficionados know how full circle appropriate this is, as Dinosaur’s ride system, track layout, and physical experience were clones of the original Indiana Jones Adventure, which opened at Disneyland in 1995.

In addition to the Indiana Jones attraction, Tropical Americas will also feature an area dedicated to Encanto. The expansion’s construction and will be opening in 2027.

Dinosaur has been a part of Animal Kingdom for the entirety of the park’s existence. However, the attraction will be closing on (INSERT DAY) to make way for a new take on the classic Indiana Jones experience. Stay tuned to DFB for further Animal Kingdom updates.
