Disney Adults Have Adopted A New France Pavilion Trend
While many EPCOT guests are debating whether to rope drop Cosmic Rewind or Test Track, or debating if Mexico or Canada is the appropriate World Showcase starting point, a growing number of Disney Adults are instead choosing to begin their day in the park’s France Pavilion.
EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance, located in the World Showcase just next to the French Pavilion, has been open for decades. However, it’s become much more well-known to many Disney guests with the 2019 opening of the Disney Skyliner station at the entrance. This has led to guests staying at resorts on the Skyliner loop — Art of Animation, Pop Century, the Caribbean Beach Resort, and the Riviera Resort — beginning their EPCOT day in France… and some of them choosing to stay!
For many guests, the main draw to entering the France Pavilion is to try and rope drop Remi’s Ratatouille Adventure as quickly as possible. The popular Pixar-based attraction has remained one of EPCOT’s most popular rides since it opened earlier in the decade.
Currently, Remy’s is often in a three-way race with Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and the newly reopened Test Track for the title of ECPOT’s busiest ride. In addition, both Remy’s and Test Track are Tier 1 Lightning Lanes, which means guests can only book one of the two prior to their visit. (Cosmic Rewind is only available as a Lightning Lane Single Pass.) Meaning that guests can conceivably use their sole Tier 1 Multi Pass for Test Track while rope-dropping Remy’s through the French pavilion.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure isn’t the only attraction available in France, though. For many hardcore Disney aficionados, the Impressions de France film is one of the best examples of the iconic CircleVision film technique Disney has ever made.
However, the film is not available all the time. Currently, the classic only runs from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM and again from 7:00 PM to 8:45 PM. In the time between, the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along plays. Therefore, fans who have Impressions de France on their must-do bucket list will often hit the film early in the morning to ensure they see it.
Once these guests have ridden the Ratatouille Adventure or seen the class film, it’s usually time for… BREAKFAST (or an early lunch, depending on your point of view).
Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie offers some of our favorites, including sandwiches, quiche, croissants, and baked goods.
Of course, you can also head over to La Crêperie de Paris for savory options, including the Classique (featuring ham, egg, and Swiss cheese), Saumon (smoked salmon, Crème Fraîche, chives, and lemon), and the Savoyarde (Raclette cheese, caramelized onions, bacon, and imported Bayonne ham).
There are also sweet crepes available, including Gourmande (hazelnut-chocolate spread and whipped cream), Pomme (caramelized apples and caramel Beurre Salé), and Banana (banana and caramel beurre salé).
Whether to rope drop Remy’s, experience the classic Impressions de France, or simply enjoy the early morning ambiance of a French breakfast, an increasing number of EPCOT guests are choosing to begin their day in Disney’s reproduction of the city of lights.
