We Did NOT Expect That New Psychedelic Scene in Magic Kingdom’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Ride

We’re just a few weeks away from the grand opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World!

We’ve already gotten some major sneak peeks into what the ride will offer, including new music, new animatronics, and a special storyline. We’re gearing up for ride previews coming soon for select groups, but if you want to get a first look inside the ride…Disney released a full ride-through video!

Disney Parks posted a full ride-through of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on YouTube, so you can check out the whole thing before it opens on June 28th! It probably goes without saying, but spoiler warning for those who don’t want to know what happens. Check it out below.

When watching the video, there was one part of the ride that really caught our attention! As part of the storyline, you go searching for musicians in the bayou to play at Tiana’s party, and you find quite a few talented band members. But midway through the ride, to continue your search, Mama Odie shrinks you down to an itty bitty size!

In the ride-through, we suddenly found ourselves the same size as the toadstools and leaves! It’s a little bit trippy, considering this is the part of the ride where the ceiling is lower and everything feels a teeny bit more cramped.

More musicians turn out to be hiding in this miniature space, including a bongo-playing frog. Do the blacklight effects and weird mushrooms make anyone else feel like they’re walking through Alice in Wonderland? Pretty psychedelic if you ask us!

Perhaps the best part of the “shrunk-down” section is when you encounter the fireflies dancing all around you! They’re joining the bayou jamboree as well, playing their tune and singing along.

But as you start to climb that big hill and come out of the low-ceilinged rooms, Mama Odie decides it’s time to grow you back to your proper size so you can attend Tiana’s party. With the help of her snake sidekick, we grow once again and get ready to “DROP in” to the festivities.

Ultimately, the “shrunken” vibes are a fun way to play up the smaller rooms at the bottom of the mountain, and it was a twist we weren’t really expecting. It does make you realize just how much smaller that space is, so it’s definitely a bit confusing for the eyes.
