Do Yourself a Favor and Avoid These Disney World Snacks
We get excited about Disney food, but hey, that’s why we’re here!
If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll know we have some Disney food and snacks that are 100% non-negotiable — we’ll eat them EVERY time. Yes, give us those Corn Dog Nuggets with Plastic Cheese. We also think getting a Dole Whip is practically required in Magic Kingdom. In Animal Kingdom, we’re going to order up some Cheeseburger Pods for lunch. However, not every food in Disney World slaps. In fact, there are some snacks you should stay away from — at all costs.
Plant-based “Cheese” Pizza from Pinocchio Village Haus
Okay, so Disney really is trying to make better plant-based food, but sometimes those efforts just turn out to be big fails. The Plant-based “Cheese” Pizza from Pinocchio Village Haus in Magic Kingdom is one of those big fails. It reminded us of one of those microwave pizzas and the “cheese” melted more like cream cheese than mozzarella, so there was a texture issue here, too.
We also found the crust to be thin and chewy (and not in a good way). Again, the texture was just gross to us. Seriously, this pizza made us gag. There are far better plant-based things to have in Fantasyland, like the Plant-based Bratwurst at Friar Nook’s. And yes, a plant-based eater is the one who tried this one our team!

Artisan Burger at Gasparilla Island Grill
We had high hopes for the Artisan Burger at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. It’s a Grilled Signature-blend Burger with Brisket, and Chuck topped with Bacon, Cheddar, Lettuce, Tomato, and Onion on a Toasted Brioche Bun. This burger was SO dry and had very little seasoning that it just didn’t work for us.
This is no better than a burger you can get anywhere, but we expected better at the Grand Floridian. It could be a little better if there was some kind of sauce on it, but we’d skip it and head to D-Luxe Burger in Disney Springs instead.

Colossal Cinnamon Roll at Creature Comforts
Okay, so we know this might be a controversial opinion, but just because something is BIG and shaped like Mickey doesn’t mean that it’s good. We also know that a lot of you love this cinnamon roll. However, we’ve always thought it was dry and when we’ve had it, it’s often been stale. It’s also not even warmed up — who wants a lukewarm cinnamon roll?
Sure, you can go ahead and get it if you want. But if it’s a great cinnamon roll you’re after, skip it and grab the Cinnamon Roll from Gaston’s Tavern in Magic Kingdom the next time you’re there. Trust us — that one will spoil you on cinnamon rolls FOREVER.

Cupcakes in General
Disney World LOVES to make cupcakes. We get cupcakes for every occasion throughout the resort, as well as for birthday treats and everything else. Now, you might love cupcakes, but most of these cupcakes are pretty standard and aren’t different from anything you couldn’t get at a grocery store back home (or even make back home). We say save your money — or Disney Dining Plan snack credits — and get something different.
Now, we get it — your kids are going to want Mickey-shaped cupcakes, and you might have to just cave in and buy the cupcakes for them. Some of the designs of the cupcakes are Insta-worthy, too, so if you’re wanting great Disney snack photos, they’re good for that, too. And sometimes a standout emerges, and we’re here to tell you about those! But they are few are far between.

Turkey Legs
You knew we were going there, didn’t you? Our hatred of turkey legs might be legendary at this point. We KNOW people love them because we see people carrying around these massive things, all the time, but we just can’t get behind the turkey leg love.
Turkey legs are available at various carts throughout the parks. The last time we had one, we were reminded of why we didn’t like it. It was super salty, but the texture between the gristle and fattiness of the meat was a huge turn-off. If that doesn’t sound good to you, you’ll want to skip.

Happabore Sampler at Oga’s Cantina
The Happabore Sampler is SUPPOSED to be like a charcuterie plate with a space theme, but mostly, it’s just a sad plate of “no.” We will say that Disney DID try to improve it, and it was a “little” better the last time we tried it, but, basically, you go to Oga’s Cantina for the drinks, and NOT the food.
We’ve had a version of this sampler at Disneyland — and it’s SO much better there, so we’re not sure why Disney World decided to offer something different. If you’re in Hollywood Studios and you want charcuterie, go to Hollywood Brown Derby — you’ll get a way more satisfying plate there.
