February 28th Is a Huge Day for Disney World Fans
EPCOT festival fans, you’re going to want to get your stomachs ready for the next big event!
The Festival of the Arts is coming to a close and that means the Flower and Garden Festival is on its way! The Flower and Garden Festival is our annual reminder that spring is just around the corner. If you can outlast those winter blues just a little while longer, then you’ll make it to the fresh beginning that is spring. This year, the Flower and Garden Festival begins on February 28th, and we have six reasons why you’re going to want to be there!
We’re fans of all of the EPCOT festivals, but there is something incredibly special about the Flower and Garden Festival. It might be the hope of Spring and the beautiful life all around us in the form of flowers… but honestly, it’s probably the food. However, there are SO MANY awesome activities to check out, so let’s dive into what’s happening during this year’s Flower and Garden Festival!
Food Booths
Each EPCOT festival brings amazing food booths with them. These booths are full of flavor. From small bites to tasty drinks, there’s something for everyone around the World Showcase and the rest of the park.
This year, the food booths have a TON of offerings. Disney recently released the menus for all of the booths, and we can’t wait to try them on opening day! You can check out our festival page to see every item coming to this year’s festival.

Topiaries
One of the unique things about the Flower and Garden Festival is all the topiaries that you can find around the park!
Disney designs new topiaries each year that are then placed around the park. You can see classic characters like Snow White and Dopey…
…or characters that are unique to a country’s culture and heritage!
Disney has also announced a new topiary that will be located near Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
Many of these topiaries are already around the park, but we can’t wait to see them all!
Garden Graze
The Garden Graze is a food stroll through 8 of the food booths. If you purchase 5 of the 8 menu items and collect the stamp for each in your passport, you can get an exclusive prize!
This year, the list of booths and menu items are as follows:
- Bauernmarkt: Farmer’s Market (Germany Pavilion)
- Potato Pancakes with House-Made Apple Sauce
- BRUNCHCOT (Near Test Track presented by Chevrolet)
- Avocado Toast with Marinated Tomatoes and Plant-Based Cheese Crumbles on Toasted Ciabatta
- EPCOT Farmers Feast (Near Test Track presented by Chevrolet)

- Plant-Based Buffalo Chicken Tender Poutine on Crispy Potato Barrels with Plant-Based Ranch and Blue Cheese Crumbles

You can collect your prize at the Pineapple Promenade booth after you’ve gotten 5 stamps. It’s a fun little addition to the festival!

Garden Rocks Concert Series
Over at the American Adventure pavilion in EPCOT, you can catch an upbeat concert series called the Garden Rocks Concert Series!
The performances take place in the America Gardens Theater and are free with your EPCOT admission. You can see the full concert lineup here. There are also Garden Rocks Dining Packages available! If you eat at certain restaurants, you can get prime seats for the concerts.
Global Gardens and Butterfly Landing
All over EPCOT during the Flower and Garden Festival, you’ll find beautiful gardens and flowers that will make you believe Spring is on the way.
But flowers and gardens aren’t all you’ll find that represent spring — Butterfly Landing will also be on display! You can walk through a greenhouse of butterflies as they transform from caterpillars into beautiful butterflies.
The Global Gardens and Butterfly Landing are wonderful ways to feel some tranquility amongst the business of a theme park, so don’t miss out on visiting them!
Scavenger Hunts
The Flower and Garden Festival has not one, but TWO scavenger hunts! Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration brings fun for the whole family. You can search for Spike, the Disney bee, around as he pollinates the gardens and flowers.
You’ll fill out your scavenger hunt card (which you can purchase for $9.99 + tax) with the provided stickers as you spot Spike and then turn it in for a neat prize!

Then, later in the festival, the Egg-Stravaganza Scavenger Hunt kicks off for a cute Easter activity! Starting March 13th, for a limited time, you can search for fun character “eggs” around the park.
You can grab your scavenger hunt card (also $9.99 + tax), and get busy searching for the eggs! Then, you can collect your prize by turning in your card.
Scavenger hunts around a Disney World park can bring extra magic to your trip!
