5 Things You Need To Know About Housekeeping at Disney World Hotels
One of the many amenities of staying at a Disney World hotel is having access to the phenomenal team of housekeepers!
Whether you’re the type of person who doesn’t want to worry about keeping your room in a livable state while on vacation, and want to reap every benefit of housekeeping while at Disney World, OR you’re the type to want to keep people out of your hotel room at all costs, there are a few important things you need to know about housekeeping at Disney World hotels.
Here are five things that anyone staying at an on-property hotel NEEDS to know about housekeeping before their visit. Let’s go!
Housekeeping service DOES depend on where you stay.
Those staying at Disney World’s Value and Moderate resorts will have access to housekeeping every other day, while those staying at Deluxe resorts will have access every single day.
This is absolutely something to take into consideration when deciding where to stay while at Disney World!
Your housekeepers can be Disney College Program participants!
Did you know that Disney College Program (DCP) participants can sometimes be placed in housekeeping roles?
Yep! And, it’s known to be one of the most FUN jobs in all of Disney World! These folks have been extra bright and bubbly in our experience, and they always make our day with the extra magic they make.
Housekeepers LOVE to make extra magic!
I can’t think of a single time that I’ve passed a housekeeping Cast Member and haven’t been kindly greeted by them. They are all so kind and happy to do their jobs. They ALSO love to make magic in your hotel room!
They’ve been known to leave small gifts for little ones, special treats and snacks, and they’ve also created little happy moments in our rooms, like the time they twisted the extra blankets we brought into the shape of Mickey, Minnie’s bow, and MORE! Plus, if you have plushes and ears laying around, there might be some magical mischief made!
You can opt out of housekeeping!
As we mentioned earlier, there are some folks who prefer not to have the housekeepers come by — for a variety of reasons.
No matter WHY you don’t want the housekeepers to come, just opt out of the service by letting a Cast Member at the check in desk know at any point throughout your stay, OR by putting the “room occupied”/”do not disturb” sign on your door. Please note, though, that opting out of housekeeping doesn’t affect only your room, but all rooms on your reservation. So, just be sure to check with the rest of your party before you make that call.
Disney Vacation Club Villlas are a little bit different.
If you book your stay using Disney Vacation Club (DVC) points, you won’t get daily service. You will receive service every other day, unless you’re staying longer than eight days.
If you’re staying longer than eight days, you’ll get a full cleaning service every four days!
These five things are so important to keep in mind when deciding where to stay and while learning how to reap the most benefit out of your stay at a Disney World hotel. We’ll be sure to keep you updated with more Disney news, so make sure to follow along for more!
