NEWS: The Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Is Officially OPEN!

Do you smell that? It smells a bit sweet and spicy. There are blends of ginger, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and brown sugar. It has our mouths watering, but what could it be?

IT’S OPEN.

It’s gingerbread! We can smell that delicious cozy scent all through Disney’s Grand Floridian because the beautiful, iconic gingerbread house is officially complete and open! Come with us to check it out.

The gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian is one of the most iconic holiday decorations throughout Disney World. It’s made up of over 1,000 pieces of gingerbread and an 85-pound chocolate Santa. The gingerbread display is absolutely stunning this year.

It’s finally complete!

It took 500 hours to bake the gingerbread, 480 hours of decorating, and over three days to construct it. It is an exquisite work of art. And if you look closely, you’ll find lots of hidden gems, nods to classic Disney, and even hidden Santas.

Not only is this a wonderful exhibit to behold with your eyes, but you can also get tastes of gingerbread here, too. Step around the back to get in line for some delicious holiday treats! There are Cast Members working inside the gingerbread house, which is where you’ll place your order!

Yep, Cast Members can actually go inside!

There are multiple menus posted so that you can decide what you want while waiting in line.

Each of the offerings this year are just as stunning as the house itself. You can get some of the offerings or ALL of them! A fan-favorite offering each year is actually the Gingerbread Shingle, which is just like the shingles you’ll find on the roof of the house. While the Gingerbread Ornament is a great option, it’s meant for decor and not a snack. We may or may not have learned that the hard way.

Look at all of it!

You can find this masterpiece right in the hotel lobby. It is the first of the 7 Disney World gingerbread displays to open, so we’ll be keeping our eyes out for the others. Plus, the Yacht Club Resort is adding an all-new display this year–stay tuned for that to open!
