The NEW Reason You Should STOP Eating in Disney World Parks

Many Disney Parks visitors consider the best part about visiting Disney World the food, the food, the FOOOOOD (sorry, Rise of the Resistance, you’re alright, too!). And with such an incredible variety of table and quick service restaurants to choose during your Disney World vacation, how could anyone blame them?

From character breakfasts to quick-service stops for a trusty Dole Whip, if you’re hungry, Disney has you covered and then some. But visitors often forget about the many places to grab a meal or snack outside of the actual parks that are just as good, if not — dare we say — better? That’s right, Disney World hotels and Disney Springs have some brand new eateries where you can grab some delicious grub without even having to set foot in the parks, and we wanted to make sure you were totally in the know on them! Here are a few of the best new restaurants at the Disney World hotels and Disney Springs that are definitely worth checking out:

Rosa Mexicano (Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin)

Rosa Mexicano is a table service restaurant offering Mexican-inspired cuisine, which opened in March 2023. There’s a ton to appreciate at this fun spot, including signature menu items and award-winning margaritas (not to mention 100 varieties of tequila — cheers, just saying)!

The food here is honestly pretty legit, if a little cilantro-heavy, and there’s some gorgeous atmosphere to take in while you eat, drink, and drank.

If you’re not able to make it over during lunch or dinner, not to worry, they have a breakfast buffet (and a la carte breakfast items), too! Honestly, if you ask us, all day Mexican food is a definite win! Be sure to check out a few of their famous dishes and drinks: the Roasted Chicken Suizas and Pomegranate Margarita are extremely popular, and our personal recommendation is the queso, which is everything queso should be!

Boardwalk Deli (Disney’s Boardwalk Inn)

Since opening last summer, Boardwalk Deli has cemented its place as a fun, colorful spot for casual dining. You can pick up a variety of sandwiches, bagels, and pastries, as well as some grab and go options.

There’s also a kids menu with ham and cheese or grilled cheese options for the younger members of your party, and if you’re in the mood for some dessert, they’ve got cannolis, which is a pretty solid way to win us over! But one of the best things about Boardwalk Deli is the hours. You can pop over to grab a snack or a full meal anytime between 7AM and 10PM daily, so you can get your deli fix pretty much anytime!

Salt and Straw (Disney Springs)

Visitors who have a sweet tooth will appreciate this spot, which opened in Disney Springs last year. Salt and Straw is a West Coast-based creamery (there’s also a location at Downtown Disney in Anaheim) known for its unique, signature flavors.

Some of their signature flavors include Honey Lavender and Chocolate Gooey Brownie, as well as Florida specific flavors like Panther Coffee Chocolate Tres Leches.

Salt and Straw creates some really cool seasonal flavors, too — for example, for the month of October they are featuring the Great Candycopia and Jack o’ Lantern Pumpkin Bread. And if you visit during the holidays, you can get seasonal favorite Spiked Eggnog, which is honestly so good it hurts!

It’s also important to note that they have a few vegan options, too! If you decide to check it out — and you definitely should! — be sure to take a look at this guide to their virtual queue before you go!

Carousel Coffee Co (Disney’s Boardwalk Inn)

Caffeine lovers unite! Carousel Coffee, which opened in December 2022, is a great counter service spot for that morning cup of joe or, in many of our cases, noon and night, too! It’s located right off the Resort’s lobby, and offers coffee and pastries, as well as seasonal drinks and classic snacks like the Vintage Mickey & Minnie Sugar Cookie and Mickey Brownie with Sprinkles among others.

Joffrey’s Coffee is also sold here, with options like Double Espresso, American, Caffè Latte, Cappuccino, Café Mocha, or Caramel Macchiato. So when it’s time to put that pep in your step, you can dash over to Carousel Coffee before you even start your Disney day or if you’re not planning to visit the parks at all!

Swirls On The Water (Disney Springs Marketplace)

Now, this one is a serious gem! How many of us come to Disney World with an iconic Dole Whip on our mind first and foremost? Well, Swirls On The Water has you covered without you even having to set foot in the park! That’s right, located in the Disney Springs Marketplace, Swirls is a snack stand that specializes in Dole Whips, which really works out, because we specialize in eating them!

You can also check out several flavor variations, such as Blood Orange Mimosa (pictured above), Sangria, or Habanero Lime, which is honestly the mash-up we never knew we needed. Plus, you can get your Dole Whip served as a float, a Dole Whip Flight, or even as Dole Whip Nachos (yes, nachos!), so the creativity is real here, and we’re as here for it as ever!

Well, there you have it. Those are some of our picks of the best brand-new spots to eat without having to grace the parks at all! Happy eating!
