REVIEW: There’s Only ONE Problem With the NEW Menu Item at Chicken Guy in Disney World

When you’re craving some good chicken at Disney World, a popular choice is the quick service Chicken Guy! restaurant at Disney Springs!

Chicken Guy!

Headed by celebrity chef Guy Fieri and renowned restauranteur Robert Earl, Chicken Guy! has become a staple in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World since opening in 2018. Featuring budget-friendly chicken tenders, fries, and sandwiches, the menu is simple but has us always coming back for more. Speaking of which, we recently went to Chicken Guy! to try the Korean BBQ Sandwich and, to our surprise, it was NOT what we expected!

On the outside looking at the ingredients, the Korean BBQ Sandwich is just that — it has a sticky Korean BBQ sauce with Asian slaw and pickles. We’re happy to report that everything listed in the ingredients was accounted for and, for the most part, it all tasted pretty good! However, despite our mostly positive experience with the sandwich, there are some notable potential caveats.

Let’s start with the good — and there’s plenty of it. The chicken itself is up to par with Chicken Guy!’s standards. It was very tender on the inside, crispy on the outside, and the breading was seasoned well. The brioche-style bun was soft and pillowy — exactly what you’re looking for in a chicken sandwich. We also thought the sauce added a bit of a spicy kick, but nothing overpowering.

Yum!

The slaw and pickles had a nice crunch but were a tad sweet. Still, it didn’t bother us too much and we thought it worked. Overall, we thought the flavors complemented each other quite well and made for a pretty tasty sandwich!

Korean BBQ Chicken Sandwich

While we mostly enjoyed the Korean BBQ Sandwich, it did subvert our expectations in one not-so-good way. When talking about a BBQ sandwich, you’d probably expect it to be a bit messy, bathed in tasty BBQ sauce, and dripping with flavor. With our sandwich, this was not the case.

Inside the sandwich

It had a surprisingly small amount of sauce on it (although some slid off while it was in the packaging) and it was clear the sauce was drizzled on. We would’ve preferred the chicken to be tossed in the sauce to give it some more kick and flavor.

Overall, despite the small amount of sauce, we still found this to be a tasty sandwich. If you love chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, pickles, and slaw, or are just looking to try a classic with a fun twist, we recommend giving this sandwich a shot the next time you find yourself in Disney Springs.

However, pickles and slaw haters, as well as folks looking for a sloppier BBQ sandwich should be advised — this BBQ meal may not be for you the next time you visit Chicken Guy!.

Hi Guy!

The sandwich fits the Chicken Guy! trend of tasty, yet affordable. By itself, the Korean BBQ Sandwich goes for $8.99 (not bad compared to other fast food chicken sandwiches) and $13.49 as a combo.

Menu

We definitely recommend trying Chicken Guy! on your next trip to Disney Springs if you haven’t already! The Korean BBQ Sandwich is yet another solid item on a menu with delicious chicken entrees. Whether it be new chicken sandwiches or new restaurant openings, DFB will continue to get you the latest on Disney Springs restaurants and all things Walt Disney World!
