The Worst Disney World Restaurants You Should Go to Anyway

Dining in Disney World can be an experience all on its own.

There are so many great restaurants within the parks, the hotels, and at Disney Springs. But we know there are a few restaurants that just don’t hit the mark, if you know what we mean. They look amazing, but then you try the food and realize it might not have been worth your time or money. So we’ve put together a list of a few restaurants that, in our experiences, all around weren’t great but had one thing that we would always go back for.

We understand that everyone has different tastes and someone might like something that others don’t. But, for us, these are the worst restaurants in Disney World that you should go to anyway. And while we’re talking here about some of the WORST things in Disney World, we love to talk about the best stuff! You can watch our video about some of the awesome things in Disney World right here!

Now, on to our list!

Big River Grille & Brewing Works – Beer Cheese Soup

Big River Brewing is a grill and brewery located at Disney’s Boardwalk Hotel. They offer outdoor and indoor seating. The outdoor seating atmosphere is pretty nice and indoor it doesn’t feel a whole like a brewery other than in one small part of the restaurant.

Most of the food on the menu seems a little overpriced and just pretty okay as far as flavor goes. It really isn’t a restaurant we would ever rave over. But the Beer Cheese Soup here is a complete game changer. You know us — if it’s cheese, we’re in.

Beer Cheese Soup

Their Beer Cheese Soup is nice and creamy with just the right amount of beer flavor added in. The croutons on top were a quite tasty addition! So while this restaurant is certainly not in the top 10 in Disney World, we continue to go back for this delicious beer cheese soup. You can get a bowl for $8!

Rosie’s All-American-Cafe – Toasted Lobster Roll

Rosie’s All-American-Cafe is a quick-service restaurant located at Sunset Ranch Market in Hollywood Studios. It’s right along Sunset Boulevard as you walk toward the Tower of Terror.

Rosie’s All-American Cafe

Rosie’s is nothing to write home about. The seating is all outside and shared with the other places in Sunshine Ranch Market, so on many days, it’s going to be hot while you sit outside and eat your food. The food here is just as you would guess, all-American. It’s got hotdogs, cheeseburgers, and chili-cheese dogs. But there is one special option on this menu that makes us keep wanting to go back to this basic cafe. The plant-based Toasted “Lobster” Roll.

“Lobster” Roll

Yep, there is no real lobster in this lobster roll, and we still loved it. It tastes a lot like a yummy, lemon and dill salad on a roll. This is anything but basic like most of the other options at Rosie’s. This sandwich is a great option for any vegan, plant-based eaters out there or for anyone else, really! Rosie’s is certainly nothing special, but we say go anyway and try the “lobster” roll! Try it for $10.49.

Chef Mickey’s/Hollywood & Vine – Character Dining

Okay, so we’re lumping two into one here for the same reason, character dining. Both Chef Mickey’s and Hollywood & Vine have okay food. This might be an unpopular opinion, but we had to say it. Both of these restaurants offer buffet-style, table-service meals. There are certainly better buffets in Disney World (we see you Boma).

Chef Mickey’s!

However, we see these restaurants booking up all the time and it’s because, at both of these places, you can dine with characters and BIG name characters! Over at Chef Mickey’s, you get to eat with Mickey and the gang and at Hollywood & Vine, it’s either Disney Jr. stars or Minnie and her friends (depending on which meal you go for!). The food here is lacking, honestly, but the atmosphere is top-notch! We would definitely say try them both out just to hang out with some characters!

Tony’s Town Square Restaurant – Garlic Bread

Tony’s Town Square Restaurant has probably never been anyone’s go-to restaurant. Tony’s is located in Magic Kingdom and is themed to Lady and the Tramp. So if you could guess, it serves up Italian food options. It’s left us pretty salty in the past (literally). The food here is really not that great.

Tony’s Town Square

But just like all the other restaurants on this list, it has one saving grace. It’s garlic bread. The appetizer Tony’s Garlic Bread For The Table is fantastic. This is top-tier garlic bread, and we are really telling you that you should go here even if everything else is bad just for the garlic bread. Trust us. It’s good. You can get it for $11.

If some of these restaurants are some of your favorites, we hope you continue to enjoy them! For us, these are probably our least favorite in Disney World. But we think they each have one thing that makes it totally worth going back to them. They might be the worst, but we think they’re worth giving a try for each of their own reasons!
