Dear Disney, We’re Begging You To Bring This Dining Discount Back

We know it’s been a rough couple of years at Disney World, years where we saw a lot of great options disappear.

Now, it feels really good to see that almost everything has returned in one way or another since the pandemic. But there’s one program that we’re still waiting to see make a comeback and that is Tables In Wonderland!

Tables In Wonderland was a discount membership card that Florida residents, Disney Passholders, and Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members could purchase to receive 20% off food and beverages at over 100 Walt Disney World dining locations.

However, because of the temporary closure of Walt Disney World from March 14, 2020, until June 22, 2020, Tables In Wonderland card sales were suspended. This is still the case, and Disney hasn’t yet announced when — or if — they’ll resume selling these memberships.

The card had another big benefit — free valet parking at the resorts. Now, you could only use this benefit when you were dining at one of the resort’s restaurants. You had to present your receipt when picking up your car to avoid paying the valet charge.

The discount included food and beverages (both non-alcoholic and alcoholic), and you would use it for everyone at your table — up to a party of 10. The regular 10% discount that Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members receive does not include alcoholic beverages.

The Tables in Wonderland membership cost $175 for Florida residents and $150 for Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members when the program was halted. It was good for one year.

Citrico’s

This membership was worth it for those who visit Disney World frequently — especially if you tend to dine with larger parties. But, it’s been gone for a LONG time now, and we want it baaackk! Will it ever come back? That remains to be seen.

In 2021 and 2022, Disney World saw pretty much constant crowds as people vacationed HARD after staying home during the pandemic. Disney didn’t need to offer many discounts because of high demand, and, well, they didn’t. Sales of most annual passes were suspended, hotel discounts were few and far between, and there was no Disney Dining Plan to encourage people to eat at table service restaurants and keep all their dining dollars on property.

However, demand has softened in 2023. We’re seeing more frequent hotel discount offers, and the Disney Dining Plan is ramping up to start again in January 2024. Disney is selling Annual Passes again.

So, could Disney also bring back Tables in Wonderland to encourage more fine dining at the resort? Time will tell — but we’re hoping!
